McDowell Looks to Rebound at Daytona

Superspeedway success has been something that has been a common thing among Michael McDowell and his Circle Sport Leavine Family Racing team. In the Daytona 500, McDowell raced all the way up to 15th which has currently been the best finish of 2016. At Talladega in May, McDowell proved he was a there and he meant business. After being involved in a few wrecks McDowell still was contending for a victory or at least a Top-10.
In 2015 Michael McDowell sadly missed the Coke Zero 400 due to having a limited amount of attempts along with at the time his Ford Performance teammate, Ryan Blaney. Things have changed and McDowell is now in a Chevrolet. McDowell is also locked into the Coke Zero 400 which has to be a huge relief for McDowell.
The Coke Zero 400 is pretty important to McDowell and has been a benchmark that was set back in 2014, McDowell's best career finish came in the Coke Zero 400 where McDowell finished 7th, McDowell's return to the Coke Zero 400 surely has fans looking to see if McDowell can back up his performance from Talladega and see if McDowell can better that best career finish or even sneak a win. McDowell has a best finish, as noted above, a 7th in the 2014 Coke Zero 400. Michael's best start in the Coke Zero 400 was a 25th in July of 2008. McDowell has competed in 10 points paying races.
This weekend K-Love Radio will be on board of the #95 Chevrolet SS. K-Love Radio has been on the #95 a total of 3 times this season. McDowell will also make start #196 in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. (Koelle,2016)

Kaulig and Koch Return to Where It All Began

In February, Kaulig Racing was a team that not many people had heard of with the exception of the fact that they were a new team with a veteran driver. Now, just 5 months later, everyone who follows the Xfinity Series has heard of Blake Koch and Kaulig Racing. As Kaulig Racing returns to the track it first made it's debut a win is just around the corner for Blake Koch.
In 14 races for Kaulig Racing, Blake has tallied 2 Top-10's and 6 Top-15's. Blake has a streak going that began at Dover. That streak is one that has continued 5 races and will certainly look to continue this weekend in Daytona. Blake has secured 5 straight Top-15 finishes and will look to either continue the streak or start a new one this weekend.
Blake Koch returns to the Daytona International Speedway for the 9th time of his NASCAR Xfinity Series Career. Blake has an average finish of 21st at the World Center of Racing with a best finish of 9th coming earlier this year in the PowerShares QQQ 300. Blake's best start also came earlier this year where he started 9th. Blake has raced in the July Race at Daytona 3 times with a best finish of 22nd coming last year.
This weekend a familiar sponsor will be on the #11 for the first time in 2016. Long time sponsor of Blake Koch, Celsius Energy Drink, will join Kaulig Racing this weekend. Blake Koch will look to improve on his finish from February and maybe grab that win and a spot in the NASCAR Xfinity Series Chase!
Kaulig Racing™ will debut chassis No. 002 from it's stable of RCR chassis for Friday's Subway Firecracker 250 at Daytona International Speedway. The Subway Firecracker 250 will be televised live Friday, July 1, at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN and will be broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio channel 90. (Koelle,2016)

Thank You Top Gear USA!

As many of you may have heard, the United States version of Top Gear is being cancelled. Tonight's episode on History will be the final episode of Top Gear for a good while. I am personally saddened by this news but would like to write a thank you letter to everyone involved with Top Gear US.
When I first saw Top Gear it automatically one of my favorite TV Shows and has continued to be at the top of the list. It's the show that really got me interested in driving and always made me laugh. Being involved with NASCAR, I am very familiar with Rutledge Wood as he does some work with NASCAR on NBC in which begins this weekend in Daytona. The three hosts really pushed me to want to enjoy driving and since I got my drivers license I have. Seeing what these three do really brings more knowledge to today's generation on the likes of cars they may never get the oppurtunity to drive. It also teaches us not to drive like Adam in any way shape or form unless you have a good insurance company. I just wanted to take some time to say Thank you to everyone involved in Top Gear here in the United States. I have really enjoyed watching since day one and will certainly enjoy tonight's show. Hopefully this isn't goodbye just see you soon! Again Thank You Adam, Tanner, and Rutledge! (Koelle,2016)

NASCAR Updates Sprint Cup Series Race Eligibility

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (June 28, 2016) – NASCAR today announced updated procedures for NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race eligibility and new provisional starting guidelines for races during the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.

Both Moves Really Benefits Ryan Blaney and Wood Bros.
Starting with Saturday night’s Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway (7:45 p.m. ET on NBC, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio), current year owner points will replace practice speeds for determining race eligibility and starting position in the event adverse conditions prevent Coors Light Pole qualifying from taking place. Starting in 2017, for the second and third events of the season, practice speeds for Open teams will remain the criteria used to determine race eligibility.

NASCAR also announced that Open teams that earn a berth in the Chase will be awarded a provisional starting position for every Chase race, guaranteeing those teams an opportunity to compete for the championship in NASCAR’s playoffs.

“These changes provide a more even competition field for both Charter and Open teams, rewarding strong performances over the course of a season,” said Jim Cassidy, NASCAR senior vice president, racing operations. “Earning a berth in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup is extremely difficult and requires consistent elite performance. Those teams should be guaranteed an opportunity to race for the title, and this ensures that will be the case.”
The creation of provisional starting positions for Open teams that earn a berth in the Chase has been discussed extensively with industry stakeholders.

The adverse conditions qualifying procedures remain unchanged for the NASCAR XFINITY Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. (NASCAR)

Tifft to Have Surgery on Brain Tumor; Will Return after Treatment

NASCAR Xfinity and Camping World Truck Series driver Matt Tifft was expected to return this weekend in Daytona after doctoring a back injury but news released today brought terrible news for the driver.
Joe Gibbs Racing issued a medical update on Matt. Tifft will undergo surgery for removal of a low-grade glioma in the brain. The slow-growing tumor was found during treatment and evaluation for a recent disc condition in his back. Tifft is expected to undergo surgery and rehabilitation soon and once cleared by physicians is expected to return to racing. The JGR rookie is anxious to return to the race track as soon as possible. David Ragan will drive the #18 Surface Sunscreen/Rugged Maniac Toyota Camry in place of Tifft this weekend at the Daytona International Speedway. Brian France State of The Sport Address

NASCAR Chairman Brian France appeared on Fox Sport 1's RaceDay Coverage to address the state of the sport as we approach the halfway mark of the 2016 Season. France covered many different objects and questions that are currently on the minds of NASCAR fans and with this address he answered many of these questions. He also gave us intel on how the search for the new entitlement sponsor is currently going. Other subjects covered include Mid-Week Races, Road Course in the Chase, and Moving the All Star Race from place to place as other primetime sports (MLB, NHL, NBA, etc.) do. Here is the question and answer session that was featured on Sunday's RaceDay Coverage.

State of The Sport Address (Q and A Form)

Q: "The title sponsor, Sprint, has been for Cup a tremendous ally, and it runs out this year. Who's the next title sponsor for the Sprint Cup Series?"

A: "Several companies here as a matter of fact this weekend, a number of companies taking a very hard look. It's a very special asset in sports. It's the only thing you can own outright. So we have a lot of interest, and we just want to make a good decision as we go down the stretch and choose our next partner."

Q: "Is there a possibility of two major sponsors?"

A: "Possible, but I think we have a lot of interest and I would be surprised, but I've been surprised before."

Q: "Is there a deadline for you on this? Obviously you have to get it -- the sooner the better."

A: "Well, we're right on schedule. We always thought it would be somewhere coming up into the fall, and that's exactly what's happened, so we're right on schedule."

Q: "A road course in the Chase in the future?"

A: "We would be for it. The reality is it's very hard to get the schedule to match up."

Q: "More weeknight races maybe, changing on the schedule?"

A: "Don't see that."

Q: "Not even in the summer when people are out of --"

A: "Don't see that."

Q: "All-Star Race location maybe on a rotational basis, maybe a new sponsor says, hey, maybe in Charlotte this year, but it might be at another track next year?"

A: "Maybe, and there's a lot of interest in that very interesting event, and Charlotte has been good to us for a lot of reasons, but we'll always keep that open."

BK Racing and Shriners Hospitals for Children Unveil Daytona Paint Scheme

16-Year-Old Patient from Minnesota Designs Car,
Will Be Guest of Team at Daytona
STATESVILLE, N.C. (June 28, 2016) - With a little help from a special friend, BK Racing, David Ragan and Shriners Hospitals for Children® unveiled their paint scheme today for this weekend's Coke Zero 400 at the Daytona International Speedway. Hailey Randall, 16, is a patient at Shriners Hospitals for Children - Twin Cities in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and assisted in the unveiling of the No. 23 BK Racing Toyota Camry that she designed as part of the Healing Power of Love design contest. The contest was open to patients at all 22 Shriners Hospitals for Children locations.

Randall, as well as representatives from BK Racing and Shriners Hospitals for Children, was on-hand at the NASCAR Hall of Fame with Ragan to unveil the car in front of family, media and others from Shriners International and the NASCAR community.

The paint scheme features metallic-silver paint that will reflect brightly under the lights at the Daytona International Speedway this Saturday night. Hailey's design incorporates the Healing Power of Love theme with a red ribbon that wraps around the entire car, as well as an abundance of hearts which, reflects the love that patients feel at Shriners Hospitals. The Shriners Hospitals for Children logo, a "Good Luck!" message from the hospitals' mascot, Fezzy, and motifs unique to the 22 hospital system are prominently featured in the design.

The car design expands upon the relationship that Ragan has with the hospital system, serving as an official Love to the rescue® ambassador. Ragan is also a member of Shriners International.

"David has been a loyal friend of Shriners Hospitals for many years. This design contest gave a unique opportunity for our patients to illustrate what Shriners Hospitals for Children and Love to the rescue mean to them," said Jerry Gantt, chairman of the Board of Directors for Shriners Hospitals for Children. "We are so proud of our relationship with David and are excited to see Hailey's design on the track in Daytona."

With the help of supporters like Ragan and BK Racing, Shriners Hospitals for Children has provided life-changing care to more than 1.3 million children for nearly 95 years. Shriners Hospitals provides all aspects of treatment, including surgery, rehabilitation, and psychological support to children with orthopaedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries and cleft lip and palate, regardless of the families' ability to pay.

Randall has been a patient of Shriners Hospitals for Children since she was a small child, and has been treated for clubfoot, bilateral hip dysplasia and leg length discrepancy. Randall will join the BK Racing team this weekend in Daytona.

"I designed the car that I would want to drive so it is a dream come true to see it in real life and on the race track" said Hailey. "I am so happy that my design was selected to represent how Shriners Hospitals sends Love to the rescue every day to kids just like me."

Ragan was excited to see Randall's ideas come to life and is honored to have her design featured on his car during the race this weekend.

"I think Hailey and all the patients at Shriners Hospitals for Children are an inspiration," said Ragan. "Hailey did an amazing job capturing the spirit and strength of the patients, employees and everyone associated with Shriners Hospitals in this paint scheme. I am grateful to be able to drive a car featuring Hailey's design and represent Shriners Hospitals for Children this weekend."

Saturday's race will be televised nationally on NBC at 7:30 p.m. ET. (BK Racing)

Martins Bounces Back On Track at Gateway

After getting crashed at Iowa a week ago, Tommy Joe Martins arrived at Gateway with one goal and that was to come to Gateway and do very well. A week after getting crashed by Derek Scott Jr. Tommy Joe Martins brought his #44 Chevrolet Silverado to Madison Illinois.
Tommy Joe Martins rolled his truck off the hauler into first practice where he would put his truck in the 27th. Tommy Joe would bring his truck to the attention of his crew for some adjustments because little did these drivers know these two practices would be so important with rain looming over qualifying. In 2nd practice, Tommy Joe Martins put his truck up to 25th which for a underfunded team like Martins Motorsports is an extreme improvement. Time would come for qualifying but rain would prevail and would place the #44 Diamond Gusset Jeans Chevrolet Silverado in 27th.
Tommy Joe would race his way through a few wrecks and outlast a few red flags and would finish 18th.
Martins previous best finish was a 21st at Chicago in 2009. Seven years later, Tommy Joe Martins would put up a new best finish of 18th. Martins heads to Kentucky in 2 weeks where he will look to continue a season of up and downs and hopefully its just ups from here. (Koelle,2016)

LP Dumoulin Finishes in Eleventh Place at Autodrome Chaudiere

It was quite a race that left its mark on Quebec’s National Holiday on the oval track of Autodrome Chaudière yesterday. In third place on the starting grid, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin, at the wheel of the #47 Dodge WeatherTech Canada / Groupe Bellemare, was able to maintain his position by strategically pull ahead of his opponents until the end of the CRS Express 300’s first third.

The #47 WeatherTech Canada / Groupe Bellemare team has worked tirelessly last week in order to ensure a strong performance from the car. However, the discovery of an issue with the brand new engine has forced the use of a second-hand replacement. At first glance, results were unaffected as Louis-Philippe Dumoulin has managed to perform with the fifth best time in the trials session, and qualified the car in third place. However, after the mid-race mandatory pit stop, the #47 WeatherTech Canada / Groupe Bellemare car suffered from a loss of power.

“The #47 WeatherTech Canada / Groupe Bellemare cars are fast, we proved that in each of the first three races. We qualify within the leaders during the trials and qualifiers (5th , 4th and 3rd). The engine issue was found out, and we’re now looking ahead to our next challenge at ICAR next week,” explains Louis-Philippe Dumoulin. (Dumoulin Competition)

Anderson Takes The Gateway to Best Career Finish

One of the little teams that just won't give up is the #66 Of Jordan Anderson and Bolen Motorsports. Last weekend in Iowa, Jordan ran yet another Top-20 finish. Jordan did everything he needed to do and wound up finishing in the 20th spot. Jordan has had a tremendous season despite some early season rough spots a new team is bound to face. From Dover to Iowa, Jordan kept finishing inside the Top-25 with a best finish of 18th coming at Dover. Jordan Anderson entered Gateway on a mission and well he showed the fans who he is and what he can do behind the wheel of a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. In 2015 Jordan finished 18th matching his best finish so far in the 2016 Season.
Jordan applied his own decals to his truck as he's done ever since his first start in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series but when the team unloaded in Madison Missouri something was special. In first practice Jordan ran a lap around Gateway that landed him in 25th on the board for practice. Some tweaks would be done to the car and Jordan would go back out and put the truck in 23rd position in Final practice gaining a little more over his first practice time. Since Qualifying would be rained out Jordan would start the Drivin' For Linemen 200 in the 24th position.
Jordan Anderson would start 24th and work his way up through the field. At Lap 120, Jordan Anderson made contact with Austin Wayne Self sending him down the track into Jennifer Jo Cobb. Luckily minimal damage to the front of the #66 Chevrolet Silverado and Jordan was able to continue on. Jordan survived numerous red flags and in the final run Jordan would push with his hardest and would land himself in the 11th place as the checkered flag fell.
In August of 2015, Jordan Anderson finished 13th at Michigan. A race that really put Jordan's name on the board of ones to watch. Last night, Jordan did it again. Bringing home his truck in the 11th sport would put a brand new stat in the stat book for Jordan. A new best finish not only in 2016 but also in his career. With the help from Kenny Wallace, another barrier was broken for Jordan Anderson as these best career finishes can only get smaller before a win comes and that win is somewhere around the corner. Jordan heads to Kentucky where he finished 28th at in 2015. Jordan will certainly be one to keep an eye on and will certainly be one we'll write about for many more years to come. *Photo Credit to Jordan Anderson's Facebook Page* (Koelle,2016)

Power Powers to Second Straight Verizon IndyCar Series Victory at Road America

Will Power held off a hard charging Tony Kanaan to win his second straight Verizon IndyCar Series race of the 2016 Season. Power missed the season-opening Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg with an inner-ear infection but now sits third in the championship standings, 81 points behind teammate Simon Pagenaud. Kanaan, who ran in the top five of every practice session and qualifying segment of the weekend, started third and battled up front all 50 laps on the 4.014-mile permanent road course with the likes of Rahal and Pagenaud. The lone caution came on Lap 40 when Conor Daly’s No. 18 Jonathan Byrd’s Hospitality Honda for Dale Coyne Racing suffered a left rear suspension failure and crashed in Turn 1. Daly was unhurt but the incident packed up the field for what would be a six-lap, green-flag dash to the finish. Kanaan restarted third, passed Pagenaud for second on Lap 46 and trimmed Power’s 2.5-second lead to a half-second. He took the white flag under Power’s gearbox, but with two fewer push-to-pass activations left, the Brazilian couldn’t make the move for first place. (In Part from

The Bell Tolls for Christopher Bell at Gateway!

Christopher Bell held off a hard charging Ben Rhodes in one of the most interesting NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races in a very long time. Bell had excellent restarts and was able to pull ahead of Ben Rhodes in the one that counted en route to his second career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Victory and his first career victory on Asphalt in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. A fight broke out in the entrance of turn 1 between Spencer Gallagher and John Wes Townley which was the weirdest part of the whole night. All and All one of the best NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in a long time in my opinion.

Labbe Holds Off Lapcevich in Thriller Race to Grab First Career Win!

In 17 tries Alex Labbe held a best finish of  2nd twice in the NASCAR Pinty's Series but on Friday Night, Alex was finally able to take the Can-Am/Kappa/Cyclops Gear/Lou's BBQ Ford to Victory Lane. In a thrilling finish that had long time fans of the Pinty's Series labeling this race as one of the best races in the series' 10-year history. Labbe took the lead from Cayden Lapcevich with 21 laps to go with the first of nine lead changes in the closing laps, as the two young rising stars ran nearly door-to-door the entire time. Labbe's No. 32 Can-Am/Kappa/Cyclops Gear/Lou's BBQ Ford, running the slightly higher line, would pull slightly ahead. But whenever he moved down, he'd get the bumper of Lapcevich's No. 76 Dodge that pushed him back up the groove and allowed the teenager to pull back alongside.  The ran side-by-side for the final 10 laps, swapping the lead by a nose at the line. Labbe took the point with three to go and only a slip-up in Turn 4 of the final lap prevented a last-lap bump-and-run attempt by Lapcevich. The final margin of victory was .331 seconds. Alex Tagliani finished third right behind the leaders, just another tenth back. Donald Theetge and Mark Dilley completed the top five. Lapcevich walks away with a nice consolation prize: He becomes the youngest driver to lead the championship points. Lapcevich leads Andrew Ranger by six and Labbe by eight.(In part from NASCAR Home Tracks)

Josef Newgarden Cleared to Race at Road America

A 15th in practice yesterday at Road America was good enough for IndyCar to clear Josef Newgarden to race this Sunday at Road America. Two weeks after a scary crash at the Texas Motor Speedway, Newgarden got the medical clearance after being evaluated following each of two practice sessions on Friday at Road America.
"I think the clavicle will hold up all right," Newgarden said between practice sessions, the first of which in the morning he ran 16 laps and the second of which in the afternoon he went 15. "It's a little sore, but I think it'll be OK for the weekend."
INDYCAR's medical personnel agreed in granting clearance to the driver in fourth place in the series standings. The 202-mile Kohler Grand Prix will mark the Verizon IndyCar Series' first race at Road America since 2007.
The Hendersonville Tennessee native will look to gain extra ground on Simon Pagenaud with just 7 races left in the Verizon IndyCar Series Schedule. Newgarden of course will not get to continue the Texas race on August 27th due to damage being done to the car and with the race currently being under red flag conditions but will still gain points at the conclusion of the race. Mark Thompson Will Return to MBM at Daytona

Mark Thompson, who attempted Daytona for MBM in February will return next weekend for the Subway Firecracker 250 at the Daytona International Speedway.
Thompson has raced at Daytona 14 times in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, winning the pole in 2015. Thompson has attempted to qualify at Daytona in the Xfinity Series twice but has came up short both times. Surely you would think Third time will be the charm for the driver of the #13 and with competition being very tight in the Xfinity Series lately at Daytona, there could be a chance we could see Mark in victory lane at Daytona if he can survive. We wish Mark all the best next weekend at Daytona and we hope he can deliver Carl Long and Derek White a much deserving good finish! The driver of MBM's other car will be announced very soon! NASCAR Racing Team Partners with Malwarebytes Following Ransomware Attack

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – June 24, 2016 – Malwarebytes™, the leading advanced malware prevention and remediation solution,  is now protecting and partnering with Circle Sport-Leavine Family Racing (CSLFR), a NASCAR racing team fielding the No. 95 in the Sprint Cup Series. The team recently fell victim to ransomware, where a crucial subset of data was held hostage. The company turned to Malwarebytes in the wake of the attack, and now deploys Malwarebytes Anti-Malware on all company computers to protect its data.

As crew chief, Dave Winston manages all track data from races, as well as data from test facilities and personnel information. Computers, all of which held Winston’s data, were recently infected by TeslaCrypt ransomware and the perpetrators demanded that the CSLFR team pay a ransom within 48 hours, or their data would be gone forever. The track data taken hostage contained key information that the CSLFR team had to ensure that their race cars perform at their highest level, car part lists, and custom high-profile simulation set-ups valued at $2 million. To recreate this data, it would have taken the team nearly 1,500 man-hours.

“Just knowing that we could lose everything that we had worked so hard to achieve was terrifying,” said Dave Winston, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Crew Chief. “The data that they were threatening to take from us was priceless, we couldn’t go one day without it greatly impacting the team’s future success. This was a completely foreign experience for all of us, and we had no idea what to do. What we did know was that if we didn't get the files back, we would lose years worth of work valued at millions of dollars.”

In the wake of the attack, the CSLFR team was advised to look into using Malwarebytes to remediate any leftover instances of infection, and protect itself for the future. After working overnight to find bitcoins to pay the ransom and recover their files within 48 hours, Dave Winston and his team decided on Malwarebytes, which they were told could have prevented this attack. After running and installing Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, the company found and eliminated additional instances of malware infection from over 10,000 files. Now, the company is protecting all of its company data with licences for Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

“Like most companies, we felt we had solid security in place on our digital intelligence with our software and firewalls, but this is a very new threat,” said Jeremy Lange, VP at CSLFR.  “It’s an area of coverage that you don’t realize you need until it happens to you.  We’re lucky that it all worked out and now having this partnership with Malwarebytes, we hope to inform NASCAR fans and the industry of this threat and the solution.”

The threat of ransomware is growing rapidly. Instances of ransomware in exploit kits, used to infect web users, have increased about 44 percent in the last six months alone, according to Malwarebytes research data.  Malwarebytes and CSLFR have launched a partnership to help educate the public about the very real threat of ransomware to companies of all sizes, and consumers of all kinds. The company will be sponsoring CSLFR at multiple NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races throughout the year. Malwarebytes was drawn to NASCAR because of the size of the NASCAR fan base and their loyalty to sponsors in the sport.

“We are honored to be partnering with CSLFR to emphasize to everyone including the NASCAR community that ransomware is a very real threat,” said Marcin Kleczynski, CEO, Malwarebytes. “Companies of all types and sizes can fall victim at any time. Instances of ransomware infection are growing rapidly, and the first step in fighting a disease is protection. At Malwarebytes, we are doing everything we can to help companies like CSLFR and the other Fortune 500 companies in NASCAR to protect and defend themselves from cyber criminals who want to take their incredibly valuable data hostage.” (Circle Sport Leavine Family Racing)

Holman Has Productive Day Despite Wreck

In a weekend filled with so much promise Hendersonville Tennessee native Caleb Holman still had a successful weekend despite getting turned by Austin Wayne Self.
In the first practice of the weekend Holman took his blue and black Food Country USA Chevrolet Silverado around the 7/8 mile track in Newton Iowa that was a total of 852 miles away from Home in Abingdon, VA. So far this season Holman has impressed many people in just the limited schedule he has raced. Holman has a Top-10 at Iowa and a 16th at Texas which surely brought a lot of confidence into Iowa. Holman was 22nd in First Practice, 10th in Second Practice, and he was able to make it into the final round of qualifying for the first time in 2016. Holman would start 12th in the Speediatrics 200.
During the race Holman stayed right where he qualified and stayed consistent just as he had been doing all season long. Then on 194, with 6 laps to go, Austin Wayne Self didn't give Holman enough room and that sent the #75 sadly back first into the outside wall ending his night. Holman showed his displeasure for Austin Wayne Self and would end up finishing 26th. With 3 great runs in a row it shows that Caleb Holman and his Henderson Motorsports team have something going for them and that with more funding could contend with drivers like William Byron, Matt Crafton, among the other higher funded teams. We don't know when we will see Caleb Holman back on track but know he will be one to watch for sure! (Koelle,2016)

Ryan Ellis and ScienceLogic Joins Forces for Daytona Xfinity Race

Could this be the Science behind a victory at Daytona? Well there is Science in the name but it has been announced that Ryan Ellis will be behind the wheel of the #15 ScienceLogic Chevrolet Camaro at next weekend's Subway Firecracker 250 presented by Coca-Cola at the new Daytona International Speedway. The car of course was designed by Todd Casteel of Todd Casteel Designs who also made our logo for The Motorsports News Source.
"I am thrilled and extremely proud that I have this opportunity and can't thank ScienceLogic Ryan Ellis and Rick Ware Racing enough for this awesome dream come true. Daytona is a track I have always dreamed about having a design race there some day and come Friday July 1st you'll be able to see my design driven by Ryan for RWR Under the lights. I am so pumped and can't thank everyone enough for all the continued support." stated Todd.
We wish Ryan Ellis and Rick Ware Racing the best of luck at Daytona! (Koelle,2016)

Field Of Dreams for Anderson at Iowa

This last weekend at Jordan Anderson was just what Jordan Anderson and his Bolen Motorsports team needed to boost an already over the edge confident. This weekend they were one of the Little Teams that could. Jordan Anderson is one of those drivers you can't help but cheer for and that is how his fan base has gotten bigger.
This weekend in Iowa many Underfunded teams showed up to race and this was one of them that made their mark. Jordan Anderson had only been to Iowa once where he finished 22nd with Mike Harmon Racing in 2015. Jordan Anderson would return to Iowa with yet another positive attitude as the Forest Acres, SC native always has. Jordan went out and qualified 26th. Jordan kept pushing and pushing as always and secured yet another Top-20 finish when he finished 20th. It would be Jordan's 2nd best finish of the season as he finished 18th at Dover.
In 6 races he's raced in 2016, Jordan has not finished worse the 30th and that 30th came at Daytona with a rear gear issue. With the newly formed Bolen Motorsports team you expect issues like that and well as you can tell over time things get better and that is surely what Jordan Anderson and his Bolen Motorsports team are hoping for. Jordan Anderson sits 25th in points and will look to gain on this string of races including Gateway this weekend where Jordan finished 19th at in 2015. It also includes Michigan where Jordan raced his best career finish of 13th. Jordan Anderson will certainly be the underdog to watch this year and I would not be surprised if we see the Forest Acres, SC native in the Top-15 very soon! Jordan is surely showing he belongs in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and certainly would impress a lot more people with a higher dollar sponsor! Newgarden Has Goals Set on Road America Return Date

Josef Newgarden crashed a few weeks ago at the Texas Motor Speedway during the Firestone 600. Josef suffered a broken right shoulder and hand after a scary two-car crash also involving Conor Daly. The Hendersonville, TN native is looking at when to make his return to action after the violent crash at Texas and it could be as early as Road America this weekend. IndyCar’s entry list distributed Tuesday listed Newgarden as the driver of Ed Carpenter Racing’s No. 21 car, a Chevrolet. In order to race this weekend, Newgarden must be positive he can handle the pain that will come driving on the 14 turn road course in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. He was replaced at last week’s test at Road America by JR Hildebrand, who figures to at least be on standby Friday when practice begins. The Kohler Grand Prix is a 50-lap race Sunday at 1:15 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Newgarden is fourth in the season standings, 98 points behind leader Simon Pagenaud. Newgarden and his team must be sure he is able to race because The Verizon IndyCar Series does not allow driver changes during a race. We will certainly see if Newgarden will be able to race this weekend in Road America. You can catch the recap of the race here on The Motorsports News Source on Sunday! (Koelle,2016)
