Can-Am 50 Tours To Headline Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres

MONTRÉAL, Que. – BRP announced today that it will serve as the title sponsor for the August Weekend NASCAR Pinty’s Series race at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières (GP3R). The race, scheduled for Sunday, August 14, 2016 will be named ‘Les 50 Tours Can-Am’. “In Quebec, few names can compete with the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières when we think of passion, adrenaline and motorsports,” says Dominic Fugère, general manager at GP3R. “Can-Am, owned by BRP, is one of these legendary brands. That is why we are really honoured that Can-Am agrees to lend its name to the key race of our event.”
“BRP has had an important customer base in Quebec for many decades now and the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières represents a great platform to connect with them,” said Louis Lévesque, vice-president, Global Marketing and Consumer Experience at BRP. “Passion, performance and adventure are among our key motivators driving us each day and we are thrilled to meet with our consumers at GP3R and to share with them our latest innovations on our Can-Am on road and off road line up.”

Jeffrey Earnhardt to race in Trois-Rivières

Go FAS Racing Canada team will have two drivers on the track sporting Can-
Am’s yellow and black colours at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières. 2014 ACT champion driver Alex Labbé, one of the rising stars of the Canadian NASCAR circuit and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Jeffrey Earnhardt will both be representing the Can-Am brand at GP3R.
“The reputation of the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières is well established as a place where drivers can hone their road course driving skills,” mentioned Jeffrey Earnhardt. “I am really proud that Can-Am allows me to improve my skills on this renowned urban circuit, and to add my name to the list of my Sprint Cup colleagues Paul Menard, Casey Mears, Danica Patrick and A.J. Allmendinger. These drivers all developed through passages in the streets of Trois-Rivières.”
“With the Rahals, Rosbergs, Andrettis, Unsers, Hansens and, of course, Villeneuves, great families of motorsports have always been part of the GP3R,” explained Dominic Fugère. “To add the name Earnhardt to this select list, thanks to Can-Am, is an honour that makes the entire GP3R team proud.”
BRP and its Can-Am brand, through its association with Kappa and Cyclops Gear, is the primary sponsor of the #32 Go FAS Racing Canada team for all the NASCAR Pinty’s Series races in Canada in 2016. BRP is also a proud partner of the #32 Go FAS Racing team in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in the United States.

Are You Feeling Lucky? - Richmond Edition

Richmond is the scene of this weekends circus event and well we have a returning driver this weekend also! Tony Stewart will be making his return this weekend in Richmond and at a track Stewart has had success on in the past. Other drivers have also been good here and could be a pick on this weeks Pick 4 with Joey Logano in the lead in the points!

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Pick Four RIR Edition

Joey Logano

Joey Logano won here in 2013 and the next few tracks we visit are Chase Tracks Richmond being the only non chase race for the next few weekends. Logano had a string of wins going on during the 2014 and 2015 Chase and I could see a regular season win streak starting for Logano. Logano is one of the best drivers here recently with consistency every weekend and I think he will be the next guy who will land in victory lane.

Tony Stewart

What better story would it be for Tony to land a victory here in Richmond? Tony won his first career NASCAR Winston Cup Series victory here in 1999 and looks at two chances to add two more Richmond trophys to the case. I have a feeling Tony will return on fire as if he was racing 5 years ago. One thing you will surely not have to worry with Tony is not having all of the lug nuts on his car come Sunday afternoon.

Jamie McMurray

Something tells me Jamie will be good at these next two tracks. McMurray has the third best average at Richmond since 2014 which means improvement is there and could round up a win once again in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. McMurray has not won a race since October 2013 and you know that is beginning to bug him. Well next weekend we return to where he won his last win in Talladega Alabama.

Kurt Busch

Kurt won here last year and it just so happens last year was the first year we have had a night race at Richmond in a few years. Kurt has been good at Richmond as of late and I could see that string of good luck land Kurt in victory lane! With alot of speed behind the wheel of that #41 car Stewart Haas could have 2 cars in the chase like Last year. The other two could pick up a win soon especially Danica with her great runs recently just not at Richmond.

NASCAR Xfinity Series Pick of The Week

Cole Custer

Cole Custer will be making his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut this weekend behind the wheel of the #5 car for JR Motorsports. Cole won here in the K&N Series so something says he will be good here Saturday Afternoon, especially since the race he won was a day race and this Saturday will be the first Xfinity Day race at Richmond in a while. When it's Cole Custer you will not be surprised.

Circle Sport - Leavine Family Racing Ready to Rebound at Richmond

CONCORD, N.C. (April 20, 2016) – The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) will take on Richmond International Raceway this Sunday, with driver Michael McDowell piloting the No. 95 WRL General Contractors Chevrolet SS for Circle Sport-Leavine Family Racing (CSLFR).

After a challenging run at Bristol, McDowell and the No. 95 team are ready to rally this weekend at Richmond. McDowell has 10 career NSCS starts at Richmond with a career best finish of 20th.

“Richmond is a fun track,” said McDowell. “It’s one of my top three or four tracks because it’s fun to race on and smaller teams can find success there. We’re in a spot now where we need to gain some momentum back from Bristol so I’m looking forward to this race and challenging ourselves to finish strong. Having a car that can hold on for long runs and making sure the tires don’t fall off are the keys to finding success this weekend.”

As part of the NASCAR Race to Green initiative, CSLFR is highlighting their partnership with MastiClean this weekend at Richmond. MastiClean is a multi-purpose green cleaning solution that works on applications at home or on the job.  The race team utilizes the multi-purpose cleaner for oils and grease, a scrubbing wipe for hand cleaning and surface prep, and a glass cleaner in the race shop everyday.  MastiClean will be featured on the side quarter panels of the No. 95 Chevrolet during the Richmond race weekend.

“Green Way Labs researches and develops eco-friendly cleaning products using newer plant-based technology,” said Ted Cote, co-founder and CEO of MastiClean parent company Green Way Laboratories. “Our mission is simple; create truly green cleaning products that work better than traditional toxic cleaning products. They've been tested on the toughest substances and common surfaces and the results are downright amazing. Our partnership with Circle Sport-Leavine Family Racing offers a real-world Motorsports based platform that proves the products work.”

“Green Way Labs and the MastiClean line of products have allowed our race team to eliminate some of the harsh chemicals used by many teams,” said Don Smyle, Director of Marketing for CSLFR.  “These products not only reduce exposure for our team, but provide an effective cleaning solution that exceeds our needs.”

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race will take place on Sunday April 24th at 1:00 pm ET at Richmond International Raceway. Race fans can follow the team on Twitter at @CSLFR95 for updates.(Circle Sport-Leavine Family Racing)

Matt Tift to Red Horse Racing

Up-and-coming driver Matt Tifft will join the Red Horse Racing stable for several races beginning at Kansas Speedway. Nineteen-year-old Tifft has 15 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts under his belt, recording six top-10 finishes. He also has four NASCAR XFINITY Series starts with one top-10. Tifft will pilot the #11 Toyota Tundra at Kansas Speedway, Dover International Speedway, Charlotte Motor Speedway and possibly additional races with veteran crew chief Scott Zipadelli leading the team.(Red Horse Racing)

Tony Stewart to Return at Richmond

Tony Stewart revealed this morning on Twitter that he was medically cleared to return to competition beginning this weekend at Richmond. Stewart was involved in a non racing Off Road Vehicle crash during the off season and has missed every race since Homestead of last season. 2016 is still supposedly Stewart's last season before he retires. Tony Stewart is returning to racing where he won his first race all the way back in 1999. Stewart has since won 47 races and could make 50 career wins before he calls it quits. That will be just what NASCAR will order Tony to do before he can qualify for this seasons chase. NASCAR Granted Tony a medical waiver much like they did Kyle Busch last season. Tony will need to win a race and make the Top-30 in points before he becomes eligible. As we have seen before It can be done. We welcome Smoke back to NASCAR and wish him the best of luck! (Koelle,2016)
