Throwback Thursday - 2015 Kobalt 400

Well that was fast. Freaky Fast to be exact. The 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion landed in Victory Lane in the Sin City and locked his spot at the 16 player Black Jack Table. Martin Truex Jr., Ryan Newman, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Denny Hamlin rounded out the Top 5 in a race that many expected to go in the Hands of either Earnhardt Jr. (3rd) or Brad Keselowski (7th) after last years last lap Fuel gamble by Dale Earnhardt Jr and Steve Letarte. Kevin Harvick joins Daytona 500 winner Joey Logano and Jimmie Johnson in the Chase. So far 3 different winners in 3 races. Come back next Thursday to find out if we will have 4 different winners in 4 weeks!

Darlington Announces 2016 Throwback Weekend's Return

Darlington Raceway announced the return of the throwback campaign for the Bojangles' Southern 500 race weekend on Sept. 2-4, 2016. The track will be celebrating the era from 1975 thru 1984. This was the era that saw Cale Yarborough win 3 championships in a row, Dale Earnhardt Sr. win his first career championship in the #2 Osterlund Racing Car, along with many memorable paint schemes. Many drivers have said they will step up there game from 2015 and I certainly hope to see a throwback paint scheme on every car in 2016. Earlier this year Carl Edwards won the Southern 500 with Joe Gibbs in a Regular season paint scheme, so lets hope to see a Throwback on EVERY car in 2016! Tickets will go on sale very soon and if you purchased 2015 tickets your renewal notice will be in your mail box sometime in January so make sure to renew! (Koelle, 2015)
