Doing The Best With What They Have - 10 Questions With Carl Long Racing

Carl Long Racing fields the #13 and #40 Cars in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. They Have had drivers
like Harrison Rhodes and Derek White including The man himself Carl Long Behind the wheel. I decided to ask them 10 Questions to help give everyone here more understanding on how this team does so well with what they have.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Q- What Is your main goal as a team?
A- "To reach the level where we are competing for race wins and sponsorship behind us to compete with the other big race teams"

Q- Do you find being an underfunded team a disadvantage all weekend or just at certain times?
A- "It's pretty much all week and weekend"

Q- Is it harder to fund a Truck than a Car or is there really a difference?
A- "It's hard to find advertising money in any series. The key is to find drivers who have sponsors and or family money"

Q- Where do you think your team has the most even playing field. Like Track Wise?
A- "Road Courses and Superspeedway drafting.. qualifying at speedways we struggle"

Q- Racing a Dodge is there any disadvantages to racing a car make that is no longer common?
A- "As a small team there is no support from any manufacturer. . So it doesn't really matter. . I have great service from Penske Engines . That's what makes the difference"

Q- Do you completely repaint or rewrap cars or do you use one for consecutive weeks? If consecutive weeks do you have a max of how many times you use that paint scheme?
A- "Paint scheme is relavant to the $ its attatched to. The yellow car i started with. I added stripes to it last year and it was original paint from penske.
I only change if requested or wrecked.. hopefully sponsored"

Q- Do you ever think Carl Long Motorsports could become the Caliber of Joe Gibbs Racing or Team Penske?
A- "Yes.. its all about $ to hire people and have the equipment"

Q- Do you think Cup Regulars should be allowed to race as often in the Xfinity Series?
A- "Yes"

Q- Lastly Should NASCAR mandate the height rule in the lower series? I know they recently stopped.
A- "Whatever rule they have, we all have to follow"
