Next Weekend's Race

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series heads to yet another short track and then we head to the huge Talladega Superspeedway. Another Short track could be good for teams like BK Racing, Circle Sport Leavine Family Racing, Front Row Motorsports, along with a few other Underfunded teams who have so far ran very well at the Short Tracks and Superspeedways. Kurt Busch is still winless going into the race he won in 2015. Can Kurt take another win at Richmond?

Myers Wins at Caraway!

Myers, who recorded only two wins in his previous 54 starts at Caraway Speedway, was able to hold off his brother Jason on a green-white-checkered finish to score his second straight win at the track. Danny Bohn won the Coors Light Pole Award and led the first six laps of the race before Burt Myers was able to get past him and stay out front until he made a pit stop during the first caution of the race on Lap 107. After pit stops Burt Myers remained in the top-five until he was able to pass Bohn once again for the lead on Lap 145 just before Bryan Dauzat brought out the third and final caution of the race on Lap 146 to set up the finish. Burt held a slight led over Jason after they took the white flag as Dauzat spun in Turn 3 ending the race .Bohn came home third with Andy Seuss and George Brunnhoelzl III completing the top five. The Dogwood 150 was the fourth consecutive race this season with at least five or more lead changes with Burt Myers leading the most laps with 107. The 2010 champion maintains his points lead with a nine-point advantage over Brunnhoelzl (181-172) with Seuss third at 163. Tyler McQuarrie joins Lira Motorsports for Salem

Lira Motorsports is happy to announce that Safecraft will be on board of the machines of Tyler McQuarrie and Sheldon Creed at Salem Speedway for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200 on April 24.

Champion Formula Drift driver, Tyler McQuarrie, will be joining the Lira Motorsports team in the No. 59 Ford Fusion. He has a deep history in motorsports that ranges from karts to stock cars to sports cars.

“I’m so excited about this opportunity with Lira Motorsports. It’s a great team to work with and our 59 machine is fast. It means so much to me that they would give me the opportunity to hop behind the wheel of a stock car once again,” McQuarrie said.

Running at Salem won’t be McQuarrie’s first time behind the wheel of a full-bodied stock car. He has experience in the NASCAR Southwest Series, a late model racing series, against the likes of Kevin Harvick, David Gilliland, Boris Said, and various others.

“It means a lot to the team to bring along a driver with such a diverse and successful background in motorsports,” Lira Motorsports owner Carlos Lira said. “It’s exciting for us to allow him to get back behind the wheel of a stock car.”

It was announced earlier this week that Safecraft would be on the hood of the No. 38 Ford Fusion for Sheldon Creed for the remainder of the ARCA Racing Series schedule. It was originally thought that Creed was to run around five or six races with the team, but it worked out that he could run the entire schedule.

“I just want to thank Safecraft and Carlos Lira for coming on board and really helping to put this deal together to run the rest of the season,” Creed said. “My team and I couldn’t be more ready for Salem, and we are stoked for the rest of the season.”(Lira Motorsports Press Release)
