Bowyer driving for JR Motorsports at Chicago

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (May 5, 2016) – Clint Bowyer will make a return to NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) competition with JR Motorsports (JRM), the team announced today.  Bowyer, a veteran racer and 19-time NASCAR national series winner, will drive JRM’s No. 88 entry at Chicagoland Speedway (Sept. 17) with partnership from Morton Buildings.

Based in nearby Morton, Ill., Morton Buildings specializes in constructing high-quality, long-lasting structures ranging from farm shops, equestrian facilities, hobby buildings, garages, churches, municipal buildings, airplane hangars, custom homes, commercial structures and general storage buildings. The company is now in its third year of partnership with JRM.

“When Dale Jr. offers to let you drive his car, there’s only one answer and that’s ‘yes’,” said Bowyer. “JR Motorsports is certainly on a roll right now and I know those guys are working hard to make the boss happy by building fast cars.  It’s going to be a blast wheeling that No. 88 Morton Buildings Chevrolet around Chicagoland in the Xfinity race. It’s going to be even better when we can celebrate with the boss in Victory Lane.”

A native of Emporia, Kan., Bowyer earned a NXS championship in 2008 and tallied a total of eight career victories in the series.  His most recent NXS start came in 2012 at Daytona International Speedway.

“We’re excited to be partnering with JR Motorsports and Clint Bowyer for the upcoming Xfinity Series race at Chicagoland Speedway,” said Morton Buildings Marketing Manager Brian Haraf.  “We’re thrilled to be a part of the team and support a member of our extensive family of building owners.”

Bowyer, who currently races full-time for HScott Motorsports in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, is named as the ninth driver to pilot JRM’s No. 88 “All-Star” Chevrolet in 2016.  He joins Josh Berry, Alex Bowman, Cole Custer, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Chase Elliott, Kenny Habul, Kevin Harvick and Regan Smith.  In nine starts this season, the team holds two wins (Daytona and Richmond), five top-five and eight top-10 finishes. Iowa Fuels Up Entitlement Sponsor for June Race

Iowa is normally one of the best races of the Xfinity Series schedule in my opinion. Again this year in the middle of Corn Country American Ethanol returns to sponsor the race in Newton Iowa. American Ethanol will serve as the entitlement sponsor and Enogen as the presenting sponsor for the NASCAR Xfinity Series race during Wide Opening Weekend on June 18-19. The NASCAR XFINITY Series American Ethanol E15 250 presented by Enogen on Sunday, American Ethanol, along with Enogen, join the Iowa Corn Growers Association in renewing their long standing relationships with the speedway in 2016. Representing a wide array of ethanol supporters, from farmers to bio-engineering firms, American Ethanol was established by Growth Energy in partnership with the National Corn Growers Association to increase awareness of the value of American-made ethanol. Ethanol represents the most commercially-viable alternative to 100% petroleum-based fuel that America currently holds, and corn ethanol reduces emissions by 59 percent. Also the winner of both races at Iowa get a unique Gas Pump trophy which is something you can get nowhere other than Iowa. As the question remains from Field Of Dreams. Is this Heaven? It's Iowa (Koelle,2016)

Brandonbilt Motorsports partners with Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation for the Camping World Truck Series Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway

Fredericksburg, VA (May, 2016) The #86 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Brandon Brown in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, will don Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation logo during the May 20th race at Charlotte Motor Speedway as the two partner in support of pediatric cancer awareness.

Pediatric cancer is the number one cause of death by disease for children in the U.S. The priorities of Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation are to support pediatric cancer research, provide equitable access to treatment and patient support programs.

Brandon Brown states that “I’m very excited to have partnered up with such a prestigious foundation. I really hope to give them a good showing on the track. I know it’s an amazing cause that they work for and having Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation and Brandonbilt Motorsports partner up to raise awareness is something that I can really feel good about.”

Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation was established in 1999 and to-date has granted more than $16.5 million to support children battling cancer. In 2012, Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation expanded its efforts globally.  Working in collaboration with Partners in Health, Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the Ministry of Health of Rwanda to establish the Butaro Cancer Center of Excellence in Rwanda, Africa.

“The goal of this partnership is to grow awareness for childhood cancer and the work of Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation,” said Amy Davis, Director of Development for Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation. “Providing this sponsorship is a great way for us to continue our outreach within the NASCAR community.”

In 2014, Brown made his Camping World Truck Series debut at Iowa Speedway. In the 2016 season opener at Daytona International Speedway Brown finished a career-best fourth place. 22-year old Brown is a full-time student at Coastal Carolina University and a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. NASCAR Announces 2017 Schedule for 3 Major Series

The earliest schedule release in the history of NASCAR held very little differences from 2016 for the 2016 Season. As sprint is departing from the sport at the end of this season, many question what will replace the entitlement sponsor and that question has yet to be addressed by NASCAR officials. 2016 has been a very competitive year and hopefully we're just seeing the begining. With 2 photo finishes, wild endings, and just some of the best racing that's been seen in many years it may not be hard to find a replacement and with the NASCAR Schedules being released earlier it not only gives fans a chance to plan for 2017 it also gives NASCAR a little more focus on other issues in the sport. Some moves in the schedule needed to happen including Atlanta returning to the begining of March which is just because the start of the season has been pushed a week ahead. 2016 has been one of the best seasons in recent history and I feel 2017 has the opportunity to top 2016 and we haven't even made it to the halfway point of the season yet.

Notable Changes

  • Have you enjoyed seeing the drama of Talladega being an elimination race like it has been since the new chase format was introduced? Well that has changed and Talladega has been moved to the 2nd race of that round with Kansas Speedway becoming the new Elimination Race. This still can't comfort some drivers as Kansas is not a very good track for many of the sports drivers and going their in a must win situation will certainly be a sight to see. With Talladega being moved that just makes Charlotte even more important.
  • Texas Motor Speedway’s spring Cup race shifts to Sunday (Apr. 9), a  move expected to produce great racing action like that seen after Richmond International Raceway switched to a Sunday race for the 2016 season. We are unaware on if the November race will remain a Transition Race (Day to Night).
  • Dover International Speedway’s spring date move to June 4, a week after the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway (May 28). Michigan International Speedway’s second race will return to its traditional early August slot, on Aug. 13. Both were changed for the 2016 Season but will change back next season. Bristol was moved to Michigan's spot this season to give BMS officials more time to set up for the Battle at Bristol football game.
  • The Season begins one week later this year with the Daytona Exhibition Race (Sprint Unlimited) planned for Saturday February 18th.
  • Off weekends drop from 3 in 2016 to 2 in 2017. Fans I am sure are glad to see that but many teams and media aren't. Also only 2 off weekends for the Xfinity Series next year. Xfinity will go 21 weekends without an off weekend.
