Circle Sport-Leavine Family Racing Announces Return of Camp 95

CONCORD, N.C. (April 29, 2016) – Circle Sport-Leavine Family Racing is thrilled to announce the return of CAMP95, a unique summer camp designed to provide high school students with an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the different types of careers in NASCAR. The camp, which launched in 2015, will be expanded into a two-day program and provide an in-depth view of jobs in the racing industry with more hands-on activities and speakers.

"Our team is excited to bring back CAMP95 for a second year and build upon the success of last year’s inaugural session," said Jeremy Lange, Vice President of CSLFR.  "We are looking forward to expanding the program this year and providing more information and influential speakers for the high school students.  It will also be great to host this two-day event at our newly completed race shop, which has been fully refurbished following last year’s fire."

CAMP95 was designed by CSLFR to help students become more knowledgeable about racing-related careers, thereby helping to foster the connection between NASCAR and the next generation. The team hopes the guidance and advice students receive at the two-day program will help them as they reach a time in their lives where they are expected to starting making career decisions.

Throughout the camp, students will have the opportunity to explore careers based in the areas of competition, sponsorship, public relations, engineering and more. Members of the race team, including drivers Michael McDowell and Ty Dillon, along with key figures from the NASCAR community will be on-hand to speak with the campers about their career paths in racing and how they got started.

"I heard a lot about the success of CAMP95 last year and I’m looking forward to being a part of it this year and sharing my career experience with these students," said Dave Winston, No. 95 crew chief.  "It would have been great to have a camp like this when I was in high school!"

After attending CAMP95, campers will be invited to enter an essay contest explaining what they learned from the program for a chance to win an opportunity to shadow the team at an upcoming Sprint Cup race of their choice. Thrivent Financial, a primary sponsor of the No. 95 Chevrolet SS, will sponsor the winner and chaperone’s travel to the race.

The 2016 session of CAMP95 will be held on Tuesday, June 28 and Wednesday, June 29 at the team’s race shop in Concord, N.C.

Students interested in attending can fill out the application at http://www.cslfr95.com/camp95. All applications are due by Monday, May 30 and only 25 campers will be chosen to participate. Campers from last year’s program are invited to apply again. Notification of acceptance to CAMP95 will be emailed to applicants on June 3. Campers must provide their own transportation and lodging for the two-day session.  Any questions can be sent to info@LFR95.com. (Circle-Sport Leavine Family Racing)

Koch Wrong Place at The Wrong Time in Talladega

After a successful debut at Daytona, Kaulig Racing looked to continue that success going into Talladega. Another Superspeedway track. Blake Koch qualified the car in the 13th place and stayed within the Top 15 majority of the day. On the final restart Blake was in 11th and was going to make one last surge for that victory or another career best finish. As Blake went to the Outside, Logano got sent up the track and into the wall. With nowhere to go Blake nailed Logano. As Blake came across the line the #11 went up in Flames. Blake Koch survived his contact with Logano and will now look onto Dover. It was awesome to meet Matt Kaulig, owner of Kaulig Racing, this weekend and with his team the best of luck this season! Controversy Sparks in Sparks Energy 300!

After another wild race in Talladega, Elliott Sadler found himself in victory lane again. A controversial ending that had two drivers sitting waiting for NASCAR to officially call the winner to victory lane. It would be either Elliott Sadler or Brennan Poole. When Logano went to block Sadler's run it sent him up into the wall sending Elliott Sadler below the double yellow line while Brennan Poole continued on to take the lead once he got to the line. Problem is. Caution was thrown which saved Elliott Sadler's birthday gift. Poole would finish 3rd.
