Are You Feeling Lucky? - Special Nashville Edition

After a wild Daytona in February the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards returns. After a few weeks off, drivers are looking to itch that itch that has been set in for a few weeks now after sitting on the sidelines for the off season. It will be one for the ages tomorrow and certainly one you will want to watch. We the NASCAR News Source will be bringing you the inside source and pictures for you to enjoy. Drivers like Tom Hessert, Kyle Weatherman, Matt Kurzejewski, and many others will look to grab momentum left in 2015 and pull it into the spotlight in The Music City.

Our Predictions

Bret Holmes

Ok I know Bret Holmes is not pictured in the photo to the right but his crew chief is. Defending winner Grant Enfinger will be the crew chief for the #23 Car, the car he won in last season at Nashville. Well I think with Enfingers' knowledge of Fairgrounds Speedway and being the defending race winner, I feel like there is a combination that could land Grant in Victory lane once again at the end of tomorrow night's race. Bret Holmes, 18 year old from Munford, Alabama will make his ARCA Racing Series Debut tomorrow. Bret has finished 17th and 6th in the All American 400 which is a Late Model Exhibition race at Fairgrounds Speedway.

Matt Kurzejewski

With 15 starts in the ARCA Racing Series, Matt Kurzejewski will be making his Nashville Debut tomorrow night. In Daytona in February, he finished 29th but the Ken Schrader Racing driver will be looking to gain more and more track experience and I think a win could come for the driver of the #52 Toyota Camry and certainly could be a threat for the championship. With a best finish of 3rd at Pocono last season I could see more top finishes coming for Matt. Matt will certainly try to bring that Bright Yellow #52 Toyota Camry into Nashville Victory Lane!

Christian Eckes

The 15 year old Christian Eckes will be making his ARCA Racing Series Debut tomorrow in Nashville with Venturini Motorsports. I don't know but me and him have something in common and it's not just the fact we both love racing. Eckes just sounds like one of those racing names and I think before you know it Christian Eckes could become a Household name in not only ARCA but also NASCAR. Christian has made 2 starts in the CARS Super Late Model Tour  with one Top 10 and 3 starts in the CARS Late Model Stock Tour with yet another Top 10.

Brian Keselowski

With the support of Bobby Gerhart, Brian Keselowski will make his ARCA Racing Series return tomorrow in Nashville I am sure many are looking forward to seeing the Brother of Brad Keselowski back in the ARCA Racing Series. I am personally looking forward to Brian being back behind the wheel in ARCA and hope to see him more in the Series this year! Brian's best finish was 5th in 2007 driving for Bobby Gerhart. Maybe Brian can improve and land the #5 in victory lane!

Kyle Busch Wins Third Xfinity Pole

Kyle Busch is showing he isn't letting a flat tire flatten his run in the Xfinity Series. With only 2 weeks left behind the wheel of the #18 before a break, Kyle Busch and his Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Erik Jones and Daniel Suarez swept the first 3 spots in the starting lineup. Kyle Larson and The NASCAR News Source pick Brennan Poole rounds out the Top 5 for Tonight's O'Reilly Auto Parts 300 at the Texas Motor Speedway. Since only 40 cars make the race one went home and that one was Tri-Star Motorsports #10 and Jeff Green!

YELLOW HIGHLIGHTED DRIVERS ARE PICK FOUR

"Dale Jr. sandwich" will be available at Bristol

I don't know what you thought when you saw Dale Earnhardt Jr. post this picture of the Banana and Mayonnaise sandwich, I know mine was like that just sounds disgusting and I honestly don't know if would be good or not. Well if you are attending Bristol Motor Speedway next weekend you can try it for yourself. Fans all around flocked to this subject making it rather popular over the Social Media.  In honor of this enthusiasm, BMS will be offering the famous "Dale Jr Sandwich" featuring Hellman's mayonnaise and bananas on white bread during the Food City 500 weekend, April 15-17.  The Dale Jr Sandwich is $4 and a portion of the proceeds will go to the Dale Jr. Foundation. Interested in trying it? Visit the concession stand in the Family Section of Waltrip Grandstand, just inside Gate 14 to the left. (Koelle,2016)

Pole Position - Not the Best Place to Start

With Qualifying about to start in Texas, we wanted to go over a problem that's been seen over the last few races not only in 2016 but also in 2015. despite getting that #1 pit stall selection, things haven't gone so well for pole winners. After six races, the average finishing spot of pole-sitters is 14.8.  But none of this season's five different pole-sitters - #24-Chase Elliott, #41-Kurt Busch, #18-Kyle Busch, #22-Joey Logano and #3-Austin Dillon - have translated that prime real estate into a race win. The last time a race was won from the pole? Matt Kenseth in last year's spring race at Michigan International Speedway. That was 20 races ago. In all, only four pole winners claimed wins last season. That included Dale Earnhardt Jr's pole for the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona, which was awarded on practice time when qualifying was rained out. It makes you wonder why this is? And the only quote I can use for this is the It's not where
you start, it's where you finish. The only real advantage that has been seen to winning a pole is that you lock your spot in the Season Opening Race at Daytona in 2017. It is unaware of the name of that race, nor the entitlement sponsor for 2017. The format could change also but it's really to close to tell. (Koelle,2016)

Just An Ordinary Day In Paradise - Drivers' Average at Texas

There was a day where Roush Fenway Fords dominated in the Lonestar State, that day has long gone and it seems Hendrick Motorsports has stated it's the new powerhouse in the Lonestar State. Jimmie Johnson is the ultimate cow herder here in Texas and certainly dominates here. Johnson swept both of the races here last season and everyone expects nothing different. Some drivers are expected to be some of the favorites include Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano, Ryan Blaney, etc. Maybe Greg Biffle can bounce back at a track he once was so good at!

Driver Averages in Order at Texas (Since 2014)

Are You Feeling Lucky? - Texas Edition

Texas Motor Speedway is the home of this weekends tussle in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and it's the scene of Round 8 for the Series. In 8 races we have had 7 different winners with Jimmie Johnson being the only driver winning twice so far in 2016 Season. As the season really begins to step up to the plate and be at bat, NASCAR is at some of it's best racing of the season. The Pick Four Standings will also add another driver to the rankings this weekend as we do not have Ryan Newman on the list this weekend so It is anyone's ball game.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Pick Four

Greg Biffle

I predict the Biff will be back this weekend and well I could see him winning his first race since 2013. Biffle has shown speed so far in today's practice session and well I would not be surprised if the Biff reclaims Texas Motor Speedway from Jimmie Johnson and I could see Roush Fenway go to victory lane for the first time since 2014 when Carl Edwards did it at Sonoma. Greg can do it at Texas and has shown he can and recently he has been showing speed on the track with the new rule package.

Jimmie Johnson

You know good and well that if you don't have Jimmie Johnson on your fantasy picks this weekend you may need to go see a doctor. This guy has dominated at Texas for a while and I don't expect the reign to end anytime soon. Johnson ended Brad Keselowski's Chase Hopes last year after passing him in the final segment of the Race and then the following weekend at Phoenix rains fell from the heavens. Jimmie already has 2 wins in 2016 and in 2015 Texas was where Johnson got win #2 of the season. With a 3rd win it would definitely set you in the Top 5 seed in the Chase.

Joey Logano

After getting in an incident at Martinsville the week before Last season, Joey had a flat tire at Texas which ultimately put him in the must win situation at Phoenix where it ended up raining. Joey has had speed all season long, in fact he raced his teammate Brad Keselowski for the win at Las Vegas. But the speed hasn't landed Joey in victory lane. Yet. I think Texas could be the begining of something big for the driver of the #22 Ford Fusion. Don't be surprised to see him in victory lane tomorrow.

Jamie McMurray

Something is telling me McMurray will end a streak in Texas this weekend and that Streak has to be the Winless Streak. Jamie last won at Talladega in 2013 and continues to make gains for his Chip Ganassi Racing Team and I feel he could deliver a victory and a early chase birth for Jamie. The team almsot stole a spot in the 2nd round from Dale Earnhardt Jr. and I could see big things from CGR this season and I could see a championship on the heels for either Jamie or Kyle Larson. Certainly don't over look this Big Mac this weekend.

NASCAR Xfinity Series Pick 1

Brennan Poole

This guy who has been showing speed recently in both Practices ran at Texas this weekend could be the underdog to win his first Career win and overcome the dominance by Kyle Busch. Brennan has been talked about in every race he's been in and has improved in the #48 over his past results. I think Brennan could become the first Xfinity Series Regular to lock into the chase with a win Tonight in Texas!
