Leavine Family Racing - NASCAR Team Spotlight

Leavine Family Racing will be our first NASCAR Team Spotlight which is a new series coming to the NASCAR News Source over the off season. Leavine Family Racing consists of Team Owners Bob and Sharon Leavine along with the VP of of Marketing and Partnerships Jeremy Lange. Along with Michael Leavine, Melynda Hensley, Don Smyle, and Nealie Stufflet this team runs a very successful campaign in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. For the last 2 years Driver Michael McDowell has led them through many successes and look to continue that streak into 2016. This group of people are some of the friendliest people in the garage and certainly is one of the best with what they have. True the results in 2015 did not clearly show it but many victories were done in 2015 including making the 57th Daytona 500. This team has really grown from the unheard of
team in 2011 to a household name in 2015 and hopefully beyond! They have had all kinds of different drivers including Michael McDowell, David Starr, Scott Speed, and Reed Sorenson among others. When it comes to teams with Passion LFR has some of the most passion. They are called Leavine Family Racing for more than just the team owners last names being Leavine and that majority of the family works on the team but also they have the Family name in it because the team acts like a NASCAR Family. In June of 2015 Leavine Family Racing hosted Camp 95 at Roush Yates Engines after their race shop tragically went up in flames. The camp was made to teach High School Students like myself the different aspects and careers in NASCAR. It also gave many of us who weren't from the Charlotte area to check out shops and like I went to The NASCAR Hall Of Fame. This helped me meet the people I had not met yet in the Family along with some people
Roush Yates Engines. They had an essay contest and fellow Camp 95 Alumni Joe Redmond won the opportunity to shadow LFR at Charlotte in October, an article concerning that will be coming soon. The camp was a good opportunity to meet like minded people which is something rare at my old school. If you are a Camp 95 Alumni shoot me an email at we are interested in doing a round table discussion about where we are today and how Camp 95 helped us out. Now back to the spotlight. In 2016 Leavine is wanting to go Full time and I hope they do. This is a team that needs to show the other teams how its done. Michael, Thrivent Finnancial, K-Love Radio, and Monitronics is the perfect puzzle for success and look for the #95 to be striving for more in 2016 and even beyond!
The Next team Spotlight will feature Go Green Racing and that will be coming soon! Thanks for reading and be sure to give this a share and help get this team more exposure! (Koelle, 2015)
