Stats Are Just Numbers - Bristol Editon

As the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series, and NASCAR K&N Pro Series heads to the Bristol Motor Speedway it will be one of the ages. Always is one of the best races of the Season. History, Chase Births, Dash 4 Cash just add to the excitement this weekend in Bristol and now more than ever, Stats are just numbers. As we hit the first Bristol Stats are Just Numbers Series it's one of my personal favorite tracks and it is one I enjoy attending when I can whether it's in the garage or in the stands.

Interesting Fact - In 2014 Denny Hamlin started on pole with a new track record, his first pole of the season. The race was delayed twice, just like the Daytona 500, for rain. Matt Kenseth was involved in a wreck at lap 163 when Timmy Hill rear-ended into him after a caution was called for a spin by Cole Whitt. Carl Edwards was leading with a few laps left when a mysterious caution was out. During an attempt for a Green-white-checker finish, the rain started falling and the race was unable to be restarted and would end under caution.

Nashville Recap from The NASCAR News Source

Certainly and experience in itself The NASCAR News Source had the opportunity to see the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards this weekend in Nashville. As I still tell people, this has become one of the best tracks that I have ever been to. The track is a lot different than any I had been to before rather it be the close racing on the track or the wristband that is the credential. It's something I have never seen before, and I really enjoyed the fact that I had a lot more access than I have in the past. I took some great photos and I have to say If I attend Nashville again I will certainly take more pictures. The racing was close and we ended the night with a first time winner in Josh Williams. I had the opportunity to finally meet Jay Lopez, who made the NASCAR News Source pop with that awesome logo and we had the opportunity to finally meet Bobby Hamilton Jr. both great guys who enjoy racing just as much as I do if not more.
Caleb Higgins is another person I met earlier this year that has really turned into a great friend. As we headed home I could still think of the racing that I had never really seen anywhere other than Nashville. It's awesome to think that this track is just 2 hours from my house, as we left early Saturday Morning and got there around 12. The racing was great and the experience was great also. I would really suggest this track to anyone especially in 2017 when the ARCA Racing Series returns. (Koelle,2016)

Food City and Bristol - History Making Partnership

Food City and the Bristol Motor Speedway have been a partnership that is one of those types of sponsors that I feel is the Poster Child in the NASCAR Community. Since 1992, Food City has been the entitlement sponsor of the Spring Race at Bristol Motor Speedway. It was always one of those race names that stuck to the track. I have had the pleasure of attending Food City 500's from 2006-2010 and then a return in 2014. Bristol. Food City, and NASCAR have always had a personal feel to it. Whenever we would vacation in North Eastern
Tennessee we would always shop at Food City's as I would always say in support of a Loyal NASCAR Sponsor. In 2015 Food City announced that it had purchased area BI-LO's and would be moving into Southern Tennessee, where I live. Seeing Food City around is one thing I enjoy seeing. You can always grab a good deal, and always awesome southern hospitality.
Aric Almirola came to the store in Hixson, TN a few weeks ago to help promote this weekend's Food City 500 and it was cool to see the amount of  Hospitality that the officials at Food City and Bristol Motor Speedway showed to fans as they flocked to see a popular NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Driver. Food City is one of those partnerships where NASCAR made them more popular and noticeable by being the entitlement sponsor at one of the most famous tracks on the NASCAR Circuit. We want to send Thank you to the people at Food City for staying loyal to NASCAR all these years and we hope to see them for many many years to come! (Koelle,2016)

McDowell Returns to Bristol, Looks to Continue Improvement

After a weekend off, Michael McDowell will look to continue the momentum going into Bristol. A rather successful 2016 so far could be capped off at Bristol like it has in the past. McDowell has been rather consistent at Bristol and will look to beat the best finish made in 2014 in the Irwin Tools Night Race where McDowell finished 18th. McDowell's best Qualifying attempt in 2015 came at Bristol in the Food City 500. McDowell would have to start from the rear though after an electrical fire. McDowell has been one of the most consistent Chevrolet's out there this season and I think that when it comes to Bristol and Chevrolet for McDowell, good things could happen. So far in 2016 McDowell has raced in 6 of the 7 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Races with a best finish of 15th at Daytona in the Daytona 500. McDowell shares the #95 this season with Ty Dillon but McDowell is the primary driver of the Chevrolet SS. Ty's next race will be at Kansas and then Kentucky. Ty Dillon will then end his 2016 Campaign behind the wheel of the #95 at Dover in October. That is the current schedule for Ty Dillon. McDowell will race
the next 3 races, then will be off at Kansas. He is speculated to return at Dover in May. McDowell is not only campaigning for a full time season in 2016, he is also working on the Fan Vote for the 2016 All Star Race! McDowell will look to continue his success at Bristol and will look to land that #95 in another Top 15 finish if not more. (Koelle,2016)

New XFINITY Series Dash For Cash - Simplified

Have you ever wanted to see heat racing in NASCAR other than at Eldora? Well begining this weekend in Bristol you can. In the new and improved Dash 4 Cash, a fire will be lit as everything is heating up in the XFINITY Series. The new Dash 4 Cash will be one that you won't want to take your eye off of. Bristol is one of the best races of the year and with this being Kyle Busch's last XFINITY Race until June he will look to continue his dominance not just in the XFINITY Series but also at Bristol. Look below for the simplified version of the Dash 4 Cash.

Dash 4 Cash - NASCAR.com Version

  • At each of these events there will be two heat races and the winners will compete for the Dash 4 Cash prize in the feature race. Odd-numbered qualifiers will be pitted against each other in one heat race, and even-numbered qualifiers will compete in the other heat race. The top two finishers in each heat race would be the Dash 4 Cash eligible drivers.
  • Only drivers who are eligible for XFINITY Series points will be eligible to win in the Dash 4 Cash with the grand prize being awarded in the finale at Indianapolis. As an extra incentive, a driver who wins two Dash 4 Cash events will be awarded a spot in the NASCAR XFINITY Series Chase.
  • The Dash 4 Cash program has been a highlight of the XFINITY Series season since 2009. Joe Gibbs Racing's Daniel Suarez won the 2015 Dash 4 Cash. Suarez took home a check for $100,000 on Sept. 5 at Darlington Raceway.

Dash 4 Cash - Simplified Version

The NASCAR XFINITY Series has been a series that has the dash for cash. This season things are heating up with new Heat Races at Bristol, Richmond, Dover, and Indianapolis. Here's an easier explanation.
  • We will qualify like normal. The qualifying order will set the field for the 2 heat races ran.
  • Even Numbers, 2,4,6,8 etc. will race in heat race #1. We still have not heard how many laps these heat races will be.
  • Odd Numbers, 1,3,5,7 etc. will race in heat #2.
  • Front Row will have the 2 winners of the Heats in the Main race. For example, If Daniel Suarez wins Heat #1 and Ryan Sieg wins Heat #2 that means those 2 drivers will start first and second in the main race. The fastest of those 2 in Coors Light Qualifying will gain lane choice.
  • Odd Numbered positions will be decided in the Heat Number One, Even Numbered Positions will be decided in Heat Number Two kind of like in the Can Am Duels
  • The top 2 XFINITY Series Regulars in each heat will gain a Dash 4 Cash in the main. The highest finisher among those four gain the Dash 4 Cash Victory. 2 of these is equal to a win in the series which locks you into the chase. (Do Not Get Bonus Points For Win as you would if one regularly)
