Chase Elliott Wins First Career Pole at Daytona! Blaney and DiBenedetto Lock In to 500.

Chase Elliott took advantage of Single Car Qualifying on Sunday to win his first career pole for the Daytona 500. Chase Elliott was the fan favorite to win the Pole for the Daytona 500 and well he didn't let anyone down, Along with Elliott winning the Pole, Matt Kenseth came off of a successful run in Saturday Night's Sprint Unlimited qualified 2nd.
With the new Franchise Deal, Many drivers were left in question of making the 2016 Daytona 500. 2 drivers locked their spot into the Daytona 500 and those names included Ryan Blaney and Matt DiBenedetto. Ryan Blaney was speculated to make one of those spots after missing out on the Charter. Michael McDowell qualified 25th missing the Lock-In Spot by just .020. Michael McDowell, Robert Richardson Jr., Cole Whitt, David Gilliland, Josh Wise, and Reed Sorenson will all have to race for one spot in each Can-Am Duels on Thursday. One spot is open in each Duel for the Best Finishing driver.
Martin Truex Jr, was not allowed to go out for a Qualifying Lap after a probem with a Roof Flap. NASCAR Stated that manipulation would not be tolerated. Along with Truex, Kevin Harvick and Brian Vickers times were disallowed after Post Qualifying Inspection problems. All 3 drivers will have to start at the Rear of Thursday's Duels.

John Wes Townley Wins 2nd ARCA Race at Daytona!

On Saturday Afternoon John Wes Townley won the first race of the 2016 ARCA Racing Series Season at Daytona. In a wild race with a Red Flag right after just the second lap of the race. A wild crash that involved fan favorite Bobby Gerhart, ending his run for his 10th Superspeedway win. Also involved were the two cars that dominated Testing in January. The #98 and #78 cars of Mason Mitchell Motorsports. This crash ending both of their days, John Wes Townley took the lead late in the race and held off a hard charging William Byron. Frank Kimmel, in his final Daytona Start finished 5th.

ARCA Racing Series Driver Of The Week

Each week of the ARCA Racing Series Season we will have a Driver of The Week. This will consist of a Driver who impressed me the most. This weekend that award goes to Willie Mullins and His Mullins Racing Team! The team overcame a lot to become the darkhorse. When it came to the race on Saturday the team did not disappoint. Willie ran the car as hard as he could and it landed the team an 8th place finish. An impressive start to the 2016 Season. Great Job Guys!

Denny Hamlin Wins the Demolition Derby Called the Sprint Unlimited

In a rather eventful Demolition Derby race at the Daytona International Speedway, Denny Hamlin took home his third Sprint Unlimited Victory of his career in overtime.
In a race filled with Crashes and great racing NASCAR's return sends fans on their feet in an eventful 75 lap Exhibition Shootout. Denny Hamlin Battled late in the race with Joey Logano, Brad Keselowski, and Teammate Carl Edwards. When the Checkered and Yellow Flag flew only four cars out of the 25 were left that had not had damage. NASCAR's newest Overtime Rule was put to the test at the end when toward the rear of the field had a chain reaction wreck involving Race Dominator Brad Keselowski, who had a very eventful night while staying in contention for the win. Brian Vickers, who was making his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series return, was involved in a Hard hit that sent him into the outside wall where he was sandwiched with Kevin Harvick.

Putting on a smoke show for the fans in attendance, Denny Hamlin also can celebrate becoming the first Driver of The Week for 2016. Denny overcame early race trouble to land himself in Victory Lane Saturday Night. Denny knows how to win this Unlimited race as he has won it 3 years in his career. Now he will look to win his first Daytona 500 this Sunday. We would like to congratulate Denny on becoming the first Driver of the Week Honors of 2016!
