Clint Bowyer Penalty Upheld In Appeal

A three-member appeals panel upheld P4-grade penalties issued to Michael Waltrip Racing's No. 15 Toyota team Wednesday, severely hampering driver Clint Bowyer's hopes of advancing from the first round of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup playoffs.

The National Motorsports Appeals Panel -- which heard the team's appeal at the NASCAR Research & Development Center in Concord, North Carolina -- ruled that the Waltrip-owned organization violated the rules set forth in the penalty notice and the panel affirms and upholds the original penalty assessed by NASCAR.

On Sept. 23, NASCAR handed down punishment for an illegally mounted track bar and suspension infractions as part of pre-race technical violations after the postseason-opening race Sept. 20 at Chicagoland Speedway, stripping Bowyer of 25 points in the drivers' championship standings, suspending crew chief Billy Scott for three races and fining the team $75,000. The penalties were issued at the P4 level of discipline in the NASCAR deterrence system, which went into effect in the 2014 season. The three members on the National Motorsports Appeals Panel chosen to hear Wednesday's appeal were Mr. Paul Brooks, Mr. Bill Lester and Mr. Bill Mullis.(

Rhino Liners 350 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Preview

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series comes to Sin City to Gamble on the 1.5 Mile Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The series began racing in Las Vegas in 1996. The Inaugural race winner was Jack Sprague. Since that year the trucks have returned to Las Vegas for one of their only standalone events for the last 18 years with the exception of 2000. Erik Jones is the defending race winner. 3 of the past winners of this race are entered in this race for Saturday Night (Erik Jones, Timothy Peters, and Johnny Sauter). Below are some of the Story Lines Going into Saturday Nights Race!

Three Championship Contenders Can't Gamble This Weekend

Erik Jones, Matt Crafton, and Tyler Reddick can't afford to Gamble in Las Vegas this weekend but they can if they want. Could Tyler Reddick face a little Beginners Luck? Can Matt Crafton hit the Jackpot for the 3rd Year In A Row? Will Erik Jones ace another Las Vegas win and move him closer to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Championship? Don't Forget Johnny Sauter could throw his cards on the table and go ALL or NOTHING leaving Sin City!

Christopher Bell Returns To The 54

Remember this Guy and Bobby Pierces' battle at Eldora? Well half of the Equation is back for more. Christopher Bell will be back in the #54 for Kyle Busch Motorsports for the first time since Eldora! Could Christopher Bell make a deposit in Kyle Buschs' check book and maybe land himself a full time Ride with KBM in 2016? Some are looking at 2015 but others are trying to finalize their 2016 plans and I'm sure Christopher Bell would like to take over Erik Jones number 4 in 2016! Make It Happen Kyle!

Talk About Returns.......

Yeah Remember Travis Pastrana? Well Guess what he's BACK! He will be piloting the #31 Chevrolet for Bob Newberry! Las Vegas, NASCAR, and Travis Pastrana how could this get any better. We the viewers have definitely hit the Jackpot with This one! Most of Pastrana's NASCAR experience came in 2013 in his lone full season in what is now the Xfinity Series, driving the #60 Ford for Roush Fenway Racing. Pastrana claimed one Coors Light Pole Award at Talladega in May of 2013, but wound up 14th in the final standings after crashing out of six of the campaign's 33 races. We can't wait to see Travis return!

A Streak On The Line For Former Las Vegas Victor

Timothy Peters won here in 2013 and as of late has been red hot on track! The Streak that is on the line is the winning streak. Timothy has won in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at least once every year since 2009. Yes Talladega is coming and we all know those Red Horse Racing Toyotas are always a threat at Talladega but maybe Timothy could return to victory lane in Las Vegas! He's had 2 top 5 finishes in a row and maybe he can make it 3 in a row this weekend at Las Vegas!

Clint Bowyer and MWR Appeal to be Heard Today

NASCAR's Appeal Panel will hear the appeal from Michael Waltrip Racing today. This could be the final nail in the coffin for Michael Waltrip Racing as they will be ceasing operations at the end of the 2015 season. Below is the penalty MWR will be appealing and MWR seems very confident that they will win this appeal.

  • The #15 team has been penalized for an infraction that occurred on opening day inspection Sept.18. This is a P4 level penalty (Section 12.1, 20. 14.c,,, & f, of the NASCAR rule book). Crew chief Billy W. Scott has been fined $75,000, suspended for the next three NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championship events and placed on NASCAR probation for six months following the issue of suspension. Driver Clint Bowyer has been penalized 25 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championship Driver points. Car owner Rob Kauffman has been penalized 25 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championship Owner points. NASCAR has requested to the Appeals Administrator of the National Motorsports Appeals Panel that the appeals process described in the rule book be expedited.

2015 Contender Round Clinch Scenarios - Dover

Contender Round clinch scenarios for Dover, regardless of the finish of any other driver...
Denny Hamlin and Matt Kenseth have already clinched a spot in the Contender Round.

Carl Edwards needs 12 points. (32nd and no laps, 33rd and at least one lap, 34th and most laps led).

Joey Logano needs 13 points. (31st and no laps, 32nd and at least one lap, 33rd and most laps led)

Jimmie Johnson needs 19 points. (25th and no laps, 26th and at least one lap, 27th and most laps led)

Ryan Newman needs 28 points. (16th and no laps, 17th and at least one lap, 18th and most laps led)

Kurt Busch needs 29 points. (15th and no laps, 16th and at least one lap, 17th and most laps led)

Brad Keselowski needs 30 points. (14th and no laps, 15th and at least one lap, 16th and most laps led)

Martin Truex Jr. needs 31 points. (13th and no laps, 14th and at least one lap, 15th and most laps led)

Jeff Gordon needs 34 points. (10th and no laps, 11th and at least one lap, 12th and most laps led)

Jamie McMurray, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kyle Busch, Paul Menard, Kevin Harvick and Clint Bowyer only control their own destinies with a victory
#15 Of Clint Bowyer could make it in on points. If Clint Bowyer can win the appeal he will get 25 points back and that would mean he would move ahead of Harvick to the 15th spot. If he gained 14 points on Dale Jr then he would be 12th in points. Thats not counting what happens on Sunday. If MWR Loses the Appeal then this idea would be shot in the dark and Bowyer would HAVE to win on Sunday.

Mr. September - Harry Gant / Fans Choice Article

"Handsome Harry Gant"  "Mr. September" "High Groove Harry"
Were a few of His Nicknames
In 1991 Harry Gant raced the #33 Skoal Bandit Oldsmobile in what was then the NASCAR Winston Cup Series. Before 1991 Harry Gant had collected 11 Wins in his Career. 1991 Came and Something Special was on the Horizon for Harry Gant. Harry Gant would come to Talladega on May 6th 1991 starting 2nd for the 2nd straight week. Gant would lead just 18 laps on his way to win the 1991 Winston 500 at Talladega Super Speedway.
Gant wouldn't do better than finish 4th throughout the Summer including a crash at the Same track he won at earlier in the season. Then September came.
On September 1st Harry Gant and His crew announced they were there and they meant business. The Southern 500 in Darlington would be where it all began for Harry Coming from 5th Harry would lead 152 laps on route to Darlington Victory lane but Harry wasn't done winning yet.
On September 7th Harry Gant would do it again this time in Richmond. This time he'd only lead 27 Laps on his way to yet his 2nd Victory in 2 Weeks!
On September 15th the NASCAR Winston Cup Series would return to Dover where Harry Gant would lead an amazing 326 laps en route to his 3rd victory in a row! Many expected his winning to never stop!
Win Number 4 would come at the Paper Clip in Martinsville, VA. where he would battle with Drivers like Brett Bodine, Ernie Irvin, and Rusty Wallace.
The Following weekend Harry Gant would look to continue the streak in North Wilkesboro. He'd win the pole and lead 350 laps. With 9 laps to go the Win Streak would come to an end just like his brakes. Dale Earnhardt would pass Harry Gant with 9 laps to go and would take victory number 5 away from Harry Gant. Still Gant would finish 2nd but it wasn't a win.
Gant would finish 2nd 1 more time in 1991 at Rockingham. He'd also finish 4th in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series points for 1991.
Harry Gant would win 2 more times in his NASCAR Winston Cup Career before Retiring after the 1994 NASCAR Season.
Harry Gant will always be remembered as Mr. September and definitely be a future NASCAR Hall Of Famer!

Tony Stewart To Retire Following 2016 and More

Stewart To Announce Later This Week Retirement after 16'

Three time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion Tony Stewart to announce he will be competing in his final season in 2016 later this week. Tony has 3 Chamionships, 48 victories and 15 poles in NASCAR's main division will be making his final stride next season behind the wheel of the no.14.  He has been competing in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series going on 18 years next season.
I'd like to see Smoke race in one final Indianapolis 500 next year but mainly want to see him win the Daytona 500! A race he's never won!
Tony Stewart Last won a Championship in 2011!

Clint Bowyer To Drive For HScott Motorsports in 2016

It is also expected to be announced later this week that Justin Algaier will be replaced in the 51 by Clint Bowyer for 2016. Then Bowyer will move to the #14 in 2017! Hopefully HScott Motorsports will become a Affiliate of Stewart Haas Racing and Michael Annett will finally have a competitve car at tracks other than Daytona and Talladega! The question begins on where will Justin Algaier will end up after this whole ordeal? I have Ideas and I have heard rumors but I want to wait until more details are revealed to reveal those.

Justin did race for Team Penske for the beginning of his career winning a few races in the Xfinity Series

Matt Kenseth Is The Fuel Mileage King! Wins At New Hampshire!

Matt Kenseth adds a W sticker to his #20 Toyota Camry.
Matt Kenseth won today's Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire after Kevin Harvick ran out of fuel! Denny Hamlin, Joey Logano, Greg Biffle, and Carl Edwards rounded out the Top 5!

Restart Controversy

Brad Keselowski was Black Flagged for supposedly jumping The Last Restart. When asked about it Brad told NBC Sports that "It's an entertainment sport, not a fair sport." which in Brad's case is how he felt. NASCAR needs to start getting on fair playing grounds and calling it down the middle! Last Weekend Jeff Gordon noticeably jumped the Restart and well All NASCAR did was review it. If you are going to black flag one driver for a restart violation then you need to black flag them all! We know brad is good when he has his back against the wall but honnestly Brad is in better waters than lets say Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch.

NASCAR Source Driver Of The Week

We are happy to announce Greg Biffle will be this weeks Driver Of The Week! Greg did very well on the same fuel strategy as Kevin Harvick had and well Greg finished 4th and Kevin finished 21st! Great job by Greg and the Whole Roush Fenway Organization today! Good Things will be coming in your direction!

Austin Dillon Battles With Karma To Win The 500th Truck Race!

Austin Dillon with his team in Victory Lane with 500th win banner!
Photo Credit New Hampshire Motor Speedway Twitter
Austin Dillon wins the UNOH 175 in New Hampshire! His first NCWTS win of 2015 and his 7th of his career! Austin Dillon battled with Kyle Busch for a majority of the Race until Kyle Busch had a tire rub ending his run for the W! Matt Crafton, Johnny Sauter, Timothy Peters, and John Hunter Nemachek rounded out the Top 5!

Controversy With Karma In Return

During one of the restarts it was thought that Kyle Busch was going to let Erik Jones take the lead so that Erik would gain some points in the championship. The only issue with that was Austin Dillon was a little better. Kyle ran off with the lead while Erik was in tow getting away. While Kyle entered turn 3 his car seemingly just rode up the race track and Erik Jones took the lead. Now I don't know if Kyle had an issue or if he did it intentionally but once Austin Came to attempt to pass Kyle suddenly all of the juice was back and he went after Erik Jones. Now for those who don't Know Kyle Busch Is Erik Jones Car Owner. If it was on purpose karma was done in for Kyle at the end when he had to pit for a tire rub ending his shot at winning the 500th Truck Race!

Drivers Who Should Be Guest TV Analysts

We've Seen everyone from Kevin Harvick to Carl Edwards in the announcing booth as guest Analysts and with recent rumors of Dale Earnhardt Jr joining the booth a few times next season it made me think of the people I would like to see in the Announce Booth.

Michael McDowell

Michael McDowell has been in NASCAR for 8 years now and has competed in all 3 series. True he has no wins to his name YET but he has experience. He's been in some high dollar rides and he's been in some rides as he says "You'd want a tetanus shot to get in it". True Michael McDowell hasn't had a great 2015 but he's had a great past and hopefully an even better future! Michael would be fitting because he has a very noticeable voice and he has the wisdom in the sport.

Martin Truex Jr.

When it comes to experienced in the NASCAR Xfinity Series you look at these next 2 time champions! Martin Truex like McDowell has been in some rides that are big and hes been in others that he's helped become the best! Truex won the NBS Championships in 2004 and 2005 so what better guy to have in the booth?

 Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

This guy like Truex Jr is a two time champion in what is now the Xfinity Series! He's got experience behind the wheel of both Xfinity Series and Cup Series cars. I think he'd be good in the Xfinity Booth at tracks like Atlanta and Kansas both tracks he's won at. Ricky is also a very nice guy and He's got a very signature voice.

Ryan Blaney

He's done nothing but good racing since he joined Team Penske in 2013! He's just simply the New Kid on The Block! He's got a signature voice too so I feel he'd be perfect in the announcing booth while shooting for ROTY next season!

Joe Nemachek

I'd truly like to see this LEGEND in the NCWTS Booth with Michael Waltrip and Phil Parsons! His son is racing and just imagine him calling his son to a victory! Lets put him in there right now! Starting in New Hampshire.....
