It came down to the wire on Wednesday night in Eldora. ThorSport Racing teammates Chase Briscoe and Grant Enfinger were side-by-side during the final two laps but Briscoe just edged the No. 98 for his second career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victory.
The last time Briscoe raced in the NCWTS was at Homestead in 2017, resulting in a victory. In his return, he earned the same result after spending 2018 running part-time for Roush Fenway Racing and Stewart Haas Racing in the XFINITY Series. The victory could be just what Briscoe needed to prove he's worth more than a part-time season and could be a factor to look at as we are in the heat of 2019 NASCAR Silly Season.
Stewart Friesen, who had to be the favorite entering the race, got turned early in the race and had to rebound from that. Though he was set back, he still rebounded to compete for the victory in the end and ultimately earned a third-place finish.
2017 Dirt Derby winner Matt Crafton has now been winless for one season but still delivered a fourth-place finish while Brett Moffitt rounded out the top-five results.
Dirt ringer Logan Seavey was just one away from tying the most laps led in the race but that one would be just what would be missing from the winning combination, during the final restart of the race, he'd fall back and finish eighth.
