Ryan Reed, the driver who has two victories at Daytona in the XFINITY Series, propelled with the new restrictor plate package at Michigan on Saturday. Reed was battling for the lead and had the race continued, he could've earned his third career victory. The similarities that faced Reed from a race at Daytona helped him, in the long run, earning his best finish since Daytona earlier this year.
“Yeah, it is very similar," said Reed about the new restrictor plate package. "I think just being smart and knowing where the momentum is going. I lot of credit goes to my spotter, Herm, he spots for Ricky (Stenhouse Jr.) and he does a great job. He has had a lot of plate racing success with Ricky’s two wins and my two wins at Daytona. Then also to Roush Fenway who brings really good Ford Mustangs here."
Reed has eight starts at Iowa Speedway in the NASCAR XFINITY Series. Reed finished 10th at Iowa in the July race in 2016, his best finish at Iowa. Though he has finished inside the top-10 once, Reed has never qualified inside the top-10. He's qualified 11th twice (June 2016 & August 2014). (Koelle,2018)
