Zane Smith Cruises to Menards 200 Victory at Toledo

Zane Smith was able to secure his third victory of the 2018 season on Sunday by winning the Menards 200 at Toledo. Smith outran his teammate Chase Purdy to earn his third career victory. Ever since Nashville in April, Smith and his team have been on fire winning three of the last four events on the schedule.

"That won't ever get old," Smith said. "I still get the same foot shake with four to go. I don’t know if this was as big as the win at Talladega, but it's right up there. I'm still so pumped…ready to go for four at Charlotte."

Smith took the lead from returning Chase Purdy with less than 10 laps remaining. Purdy still finished the race in second, his best career finish in the series. Toledo was Purdy's first race back in the No. 8 car after he suffered a back injury at Talladega. Joe Graf Jr. continued his strong season by finishing third while Chandler Smith and Bret Holmes rounded out the top-five.

The series returns to Charlotte on Thursday night for the General Tire 150. Smith looks to earn victory No. 4 on the season.
