Chandler Smith earned his first career pole in his first career start on Saturday during qualifying for the Music City 200. Smith turned an 18.768 second (114.332 mph) lap around the Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville. Tyler Dippel qualified second followed by Zane Smith, Ryan Repko, and Bret Holmes.
Smith led the way in practice and found that same speed during the qualifying session. The lap that he turned earned his the track record for the Fairgrounds Speedway that was previously held by Chase Briscoe who set it in 2016. All top-five starters time were faster than the previous track record.
