STP 500 Practice Report

Martin Truex Jr. led the way in both practice sessions on Saturday. Truex is coming off of his first victory of 2018 last weekend at Auto Club and the speed surely showed during practice. Brad Keselowski practiced second in both sessions while Kyle Busch was third fastest in first practice while Daniel Suarez was third in final practice.

In the first practice, former Martinsville winners Ryan Newman and Kurt Busch finished fourth and fifth. Kyle Busch pushed Newman to fifth after the No. 18 finished fourth in final practice.

Qualifying for the STP 500 is slated to begin at 5 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1 later tonight (March 25th) should the weather cooperate. Should qualifying be canceled, Martin Truex Jr. will start from the pole as the starting lineup will be set by owner points.
