Brad Keselowski Holds off Justin Allgaier for DC Solar 200 Victory

Brad Keselowski held off a late charge from Justin Allgaier to win the DC Solar 200 at ISM Raceway on Saturday (March 10). Keselowski had to overcome a speeding penalty early in the race to earn his 37th career victory in the NASCAR XFINITY Series.

“Brian Wilson made some great adjustments to the car and the weather kind of came to us with what we needed for how our car was handling," said Keselowski. "It is good to see that work out for everyone at Team Penske with the Fitzgerald Glider Ford Mustang. It was a solid team effort. I wasn’t perfect today by any stretch of the imagination but the car was really strong. Really, really good for about 50-60 laps. The last 20 laps it would fall off pretty good but the guys made it count. I am really proud of them.”

Two hours of red flags for rain set up for the DC Solar 200 to end under the lights. Christopher Bell had taken the lead but as Bell led Keselowski and others down pit road for green flag stops, Bell lost the lead and fell to second. Battling with a super loose racecar, Bell couldn't make a late race charge and he'd finish fourth.

Keselowski ran away with the lead but didn't have a lock on it yet as Allgaier began making a charge for the lead. As laps ticked down, Allgaier ran out of time and had to settle for second. Kyle Busch (third) and Jamie McMurray(fifth) rounded out the top five.
