Sargeant competed in a full-time season last year with Cunningham Motorsports in the ARCA Racing Series where he finished second in points. In 35 ARCA starts, Sargeant tallied four victories, 20 top-fives, 30 top-10's, and one pole. The driver from Boca Raton, FL also has six starts in the Camping World Truck Series under his belt with his best finish coming at New Hampshire in 2015 where he finished ninth.

Sargeant will have veteran crew chief Doug Randolph on the pit box overseeing his Rookie campaign. Randolph moves from the late Brad Keselowski Racing after overseeing Austin Cindric in 2017. He has seven years experience in the NCWTS with a long list of drivers including Ricky Carmichael, Ryan Blaney, Grant Enfinger, Parker Kligerman, and others. He has overseen seven victories in the NCWTS with his most recent at CTMP with Cindric.
“I can’t thank Mike Beam and GMS Racing enough for the opportunity to lead this race team in 2018,” said Doug Randolph in the team release. “I met Mike on my first job in racing as a mechanic for Junior Johnson’s team in 1982. We’ve worked together many times throughout our careers and have stayed friends along the way. He and Maury Gallagher have certainly given us all the resources we need to win races and championships. I’ve watched Dalton progress in his career for a while now. He’s been impressive and won in everything he’s driven, against tough competition for years. I’ve taken a lot of pride into developing drivers over the years, and the opportunity to work with Dalton at a race team like GMS Racing is something that I’m excited to be a part of.”
More information concerning Sargeant and the remainder of the GMS Racing lineup for the 2018 season will be released at a later date. For sure, Sargeant will have 2016 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion, Johnny Sauter. Sauter was announced to return on November 17th, 2017. (Koelle,2018)
