The stipulation to be eligible for this race is the same as last season. The stipulations were changed last year after it seemed that NASCAR was letting just about anyone race in "The Clash". Now it is more important to earn a pole during the regular season, win the Daytona 500 pole, or qualify for the playoffs the previous year. If you can win "The Clash" a drivers ticket will be punched for this event every year.
20 drivers earned eligibility but with Dale Earnhardt Jr. announcing his retirement and Matt Kenseth and Danica Patrick not having a ride for the 2018 season, those three drivers will be left out of the list below because we don't believe they will compete in this race.
For the first time the event is planned on the same Sunday as Daytona 500 Qualifying. Last seasons was ran on Sunday after heavy rains forced NASCAR to postpone the event from Saturday Night. The event will be on Sunday February 11th, 2018.
