Alex Bowman will run The Clash at Daytona

ESPN's Bob Pockrass tweeted: "Rick Hendrick said that Alex Bowman would compete in The Clash at Daytona, he's just not sure for who/what car."
Bowman is eligible for The Clash at Daytona in February by virtue of his pole he gained back at Phoenix in November. Bowman filled in for Dale Earnhardt Jr. in ten races last season after Dale Earnhardt Jr. was sidelined after concussions just before New Hampshire earlier in the season. Bowman gained his career best finish at Phoenix where he finished 6th. Bowman led 200 laps at Phoenix but a late race incident with Kyle Busch and Matt Kenseth pushed him back. Their isn't many options for Bowman unless JR Motorsports fields a Cup Car which they have never done in their history. Teams like Tommy Baldwin Racing or Premium Motorsports could also field a car for Bowman with support from Hendrick.
