Stewart Haas Racing announced earlier this season that they would begin a NASCAR Xfinity Series team. The announcement came shortly after the team announced they would be moving to Ford Performance power next season and now everything is set.
Stewart Haas Racing announced that Cole Custer will pilot the #00 Haas Automation Ford Mustang. Cole Custer has made three NASCAR Xfinity Series starts this season driving the #88 for JR Motorsports in two races and #5 in one race, the same team he drives a truck for. Custer's best finish came at Charlotte where he finished 4th. Custer also finished 6th at Richmond and a 32nd at Kentucky. Custer has 2 victories in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and just barely missed this seasons inaugural NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Chase for The Championship. Custer will surely be a threat next season adding to one of the most star studded lineups in the Xfinity Series in a very long time. (Koelle,2016)
