A track record effort for Michael McDowell wasn't enough to conquer the pole for the Road America 180 Fired up by Johnsonville as Alex Tagliani edged McDowell in the final round of qualifying to win his 4th career pole in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. In the first round McDowell was able to take down Nelson Piquet Jr.'s Track Record from 2012 but wasn't able to back that effort up in the second round and will start 2nd. His 2nd time starting 2nd and third time starting on the front row. "Third Time's the Charm" as they always say. Mid-Ohio winner Justin Marks will start third, Owen Kelly 4th and Daniel Suarez will start 5th. 2014 Winner Brendan Gaughan will start 8th, He is the only previous winner in the field.
