On Saturday Afternoon John Wes Townley won the first race of the 2016 ARCA Racing Series Season at Daytona. In a wild race with a Red Flag right after just the second lap of the race. A wild crash that involved fan favorite Bobby Gerhart, ending his run for his 10th Superspeedway win. Also involved were the two cars that dominated Testing in January. The #98 and #78 cars of Mason Mitchell Motorsports. This crash ending both of their days, John Wes Townley took the lead late in the race and held off a hard charging William Byron. Frank Kimmel, in his final Daytona Start finished 5th.
ARCA Racing Series Driver Of The Week
Each week of the ARCA Racing Series Season we will have a Driver of The Week. This will consist of a Driver who impressed me the most. This weekend that award goes to Willie Mullins and His Mullins Racing Team! The team overcame a lot to become the darkhorse. When it came to the race on Saturday the team did not disappoint. Willie ran the car as hard as he could and it landed the team an 8th place finish. An impressive start to the 2016 Season. Great Job Guys!
