Ryan Preece Set for Full-Time Campaign for 2019 with JTG Daugherty Racing

Ryan Preece will be moving to the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series full-time in the No. 47 for JTG Daugherty Racing in 2019. The organization announced on Friday, September 28th that Preece would be taking over the ride that'll be left by AJ Allmendinger at seasons end. Earlier this week, JTG Daugherty announced that Allmendinger would not return to the organization in 2019.

"It's been many years of fighting for opportunities to compete and win races at NASCAR's highest level, and it is nice to officially say that JTG Daugherty Racing is my new home for 2019," Preece said in a news release. "I look forward to not only racing but working with the team as well to build speed and create a name for myself here."

Preece has five starts in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series with a best finish of 32nd in his debut at New Hampshire in 2015. Preece ran a full season in the XFINITY Series with JD Motorsports in 2016 before "betting on himself" by putting all of his money into a lump sum of starts with Joe Gibbs Racing. That bet paid off as Preece picked up his first career victory at Iowa in July of 2017. He picked up his second career victory at Bristol earlier this year. (Koelle,2018)
