Reed Sorenson Set for 300th Career Start in Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series at Bristol

Reed Sorenson will make his 300th career start in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series on Saturday night (August 16th) with Rick Ware Racing. The driver from Peachtree City, Georgia made his debut at Atlanta in October of 2005 driving for Chip Ganassi Racing. He finished 41st after crashing about midway through the race. During a career that has spanned across 14 seasons, Sorenson has driven for multiple teams like Richard Petty Motorsports, Red Bull Racing, Robby Gordon Motorsports, Leavine Family Racing, and others. Sorenson has a total of five top five's, 15 top 10's, and one career pole. His best career finish came at Atlanta in 2007 where he finished third.

Sorenson will pilot the No. 51 Trading View Ford Fusion for Rick Ware Racing. The No. 51 has been piloted by a few drivers this year including Cody Ware, Harrison Rhodes, Justin Marks, Timmy Hill, Cole Custer, and others. BJ McLeod has piloted the No. 51 a few times this season but will move to drive the No. 52 this weekend for the organization. Cody Ware piloted the No. 52 in its debut and return to the series at Sonoma where he finished 36th.

Daytona was a good track to Rick Ware Racing this season. The teams best and second-best finishes came at Daytona this season with Marks picking up the best finish in the Daytona 500 of 12th and Ray Black Jr. picking up a 16th place finish. This weekend Rick Ware Racing makes their fourth straight start at Bristol. McLeod picked up the teams best Bristol finish last August where they finished 32nd. With the start on Saturday, Reed Sorenson becomes the 11th different driver to race under the Rick Ware Racing banner in the Cup series. (Koelle,2018)
