Front Row Motorsports Posts Highest Bid in Auction for BK Racing Assets

Front Row Motorsports was the highest bidder in an auction on Monday, August 20th, 2018 for BK Racing's assets. The assets of the team include the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Charter and equipment.

Front Row Motorsports was the highest bidder in the auction beating out multiple groups including one headed by GMS Racing's Mike Beam. The purchase must be approved by the judge. That decision won't come until Thursday.

Per ESPN's Bob Pockrass, Front Row submitted the winning bid of $2.08 million on Monday. GMS Racing bid $1.8 million but they didn't attempt to match Front Row Racing's bid. In addition to the sale to Front Row, the trustee agreed to sell secondary assets to former XFINITY Series team Obaika Racing for $265,000 and a transporter to Rick Ware Racing for $35,000.

Front Row Motorsports has three charters currently. They purchased a charter from BK Racing for $2 million following the 2016 season. Michael McDowell and David Ragan currently race for FRM while the third charter they own is currently leased to TriStar Motorsports. That charter is subject to a lawsuit that was filed earlier this season. (Koelle,2018)
