Denny Hamlin delivered three super fast laps to sweep all three rounds of knockout qualifying at Michigan. It's his second straight pole award of the season as he won the pole last weekend at Watkins Glen. His Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Kyle Busch will start on the outside pole, his seventh front row start of the season and second straight second-place qualifying effort.
Kevin Harvick will start Sunday's race from the third position while Erik Jones and Austin Dillon round out the top-five.
Some notable drivers starting outside the top-12 include June Michigan winner Clint Bowyer (16th), Kyle Larson (17th), Brad Keselowski (18th), Chase Elliott (21st), and Daniel Suarez (40th). Suarez was the only driver not to turn a lap during the session as he made contact with the outside wall during the session. They will not be going to a backup car but they will be repairing it.
