Christopher Bell to Replace Ailing Harrison Burton at Bristol

The 2017 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Champion will return to the series on Thursday night (August 16th) at the Bristol Motor Speedway. Christopher Bell will pilot the No. 51 Hunt Brothers Pizza Toyota Tundra as Harrison Burton recovers from sickness.

It'll be the first start for Bell since he finished second at Homestead last November en-route to the championship. In 53 starts Bell has seven victories, 26 top fives, 41 top 10's, and five poles. Bell has two career starts in the NCWTS at Bristol with two seventh-place finishes. He led 35 laps at Bristol in the spring XFINITY Series race but after getting involved in a crash, he was relegated to a 29th place finish.

This is the second time this season that a Kyle Busch Motorsports driver was unable to compete due to sickness. Noah Gragson was replaced by Erik Jones at Pocono earlier this month after Gragson experienced flu-like symptoms. Jones ran runner-up to his teammate and team owner Kyle Busch in that race with zero time in the truck. Unlike Jones, Bell will have some time in the truck to get it tuned up. (Koelle,2018)
