Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race and Food City 300 Start Times Adjusted

You can't have a Bristol race weekend without a threat of rain and on Saturday Night and Sunday (August 17th & 18th), there's now a chance of rain.

NASCAR and Bristol Motor Speedway track officials have announced that Saturday's Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race has been moved to 6:30 p.m. ET from 7:30 p.m. ET due to impending inclement weather.

Officials from NASCAR and Bristol Motor Speedway also announced that the Food City 300 will begin at 7:15 p.m. ET, 15 minutes earlier than the scheduled start time.

All of Saturday's action including pre-race ceremonies have been moved up one hour earlier in preparation for precipitation. The announcement came Friday morning as weather forecasts show a 30% chance of rain move to a 50% chance from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. The chance of rain doesn't drop below 20% till at least 11 p.m. Sunday night. Our weather app states "Thunderstorms possible at 7:15 p.m. ET" tonight.

So if you're heading to the Bristol Motor Speedway tonight, be sure to grab that raincoat just in case. (Koelle,2018)
