Michael McDowell Seeks to Snap New Hampshire Career Mark

This season has been one of consistency with some high moments for the driver of the No. 34 in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. After making the move from Chevrolet and Leavine Family Racing to Ford and Front Row Motorsports over the off-season, Michael McDowell has continued to make gains and proving that FRM is an organization not to overlook.

On Sunday, McDowell will make his 269th start in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and his 16th start at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. In those previous 15 starts though, McDowell has stacked up a statistic that is one that he wants to remove from the record books.

In 15 starts at New Hampshire, McDowell has never finished on the lead lap, the most of any other active drivers. The closest McDowell has come to finishing on the lead lap came last July where he finished 26th, one lap down. So far this season McDowell has finished on the lead lap four times, including three straight from Pocono to Sonoma.

A little extra motivation this weekend is that he has a new sponsor on board for Sunday's Foxwoods Resort Casino 301. During qualifying, McDowell put the No. 34 in the 29th starting position. (Koelle,2018)
