Kyle Larson Goes 3-for-3 in 2018 with victory at Daytona

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Kyle Larson stole the victory on Friday night, literally. Larson was on the good end of a NASCAR call in the end as he locked up his third victory of the 2018 season in his final scheduled start. Though Larson didn't pass the line first, Justin Haley went below the double-yellow line to take the lead coming to the checkered and as NASCAR makes real clear following the race, no passing below the yellow line. As a result, Larson pulls DC Solar in victory lane for the second time in 2018.

"It's amazing," Larson said to NBC after the race. "I've been close to win an Xfinity race here in Daytona, so it's nice to finally get it done."

Haley was relegated from a win to an 18th place finish following his illegal pass under the double-yellow line. It was just Haley's second start in the series and he's just coming off of his first career victory in the Truck Series a few weeks ago at Gateway.

Elliott Sadler finished the race in second, his third straight second-place finish at Dayton. Christopher Bell, who spun on pit road early, managed to salvage a third-place finish while Ryan Blaney and Kaz Grala rounded out the top five.

The margin of victory was .005-seconds with Elliott Sadler being the best finishing XFINITY. There were six caution flags for 29 laps with one red flag lasting a total of 12 minutes and 18 seconds. There were 11 lead changes among five drivers.

After finishing the race in second, Elliott Sadler leads the points standings by 12 points over Daniel Hemric. The NASCAR XFINITY Series now heads to the Kentucky Speedway for the ALSCO 300. Kyle Busch won that race last season and will pilot the No. 18 looking to defend his victory.
