Sheldon Creed Begins Seeing Gateway to Championship with Victory at Gateway

Sheldon Creed has continued to show he's the real deal and made a statement Friday by earning his second career victory at Gateway. Creed made an interesting move on Christian Eckes late in the race to take the victory. He started from the pole and continued to put a whoopin' on the field much as he did in his first career victory at Michigan a few weeks ago.

"Some race weekends are easier than others," said Creed. "We won at Michigan and then went out and qualified twelfth last weekend at Madison. This weekend we were fast in practice, set a track record, led the most laps and won."

Along with earning the victory, MDM Motorsports finished 1-2-3 again. Chase Purdy finished the race in second while fellow teammate Harrison Burton finished third.

"It's important to us as a team," he said. "But it's even more important to us as drivers. And we all want to beat the other one. It's not that way because we dislike each other. We are all really good friends. We aren't friends out there on the race track though. We all want to win. It's great to have those bragging rights for the next five days until we get to Chicagoland."

Christian Eckes and Riley Herbst rounded out the top-five as the series heads to Chicagoland.
