Johnny Sauter Holds off Stewart Friesen to Win PPG 400

Johnny Sauter was able to hold off Stewart Friesen on the final lap to earn his fourth victory of the 2018 season. Fuel woes began to threaten Sauter's fourth victory but a few late race cautions helped Sauter save enough fuel to the finish.

Friesen tied his best career finish of second, his best finish on asphalt. Justin Haley finished the race in third while ThorSport Racing teammates Grant Enfinger and Matt Crafton rounded out the top five.

There were nine cautions for 44 laps. There were a total of 12 lead changes among nine drivers with Todd Gilliland leading the most laps of the evening at 62 laps. Sauter led the second most laps at 51. Noah Gragson (19), Stewart Friesen (13), Grant Enfinger (7), Spencer Davis (7), Chris Eggleston (4), Justin Haley (3), and Ben Rhodes (1) were the nine drivers who led at least one lap in Friday's race.
