The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series joins the Verizon IndyCar Series this weekend at the Texas Motor Speedway for the 21st annual PPG 400. The stars of the NCWTS head to Texas this weekend before a tour of the Mid-West fills the rest of the Summer. Christopher Bell won this race last season but has made the move up to the XFINITY Series and will not defend that victory. Todd Gilliland will pilot the No. 4 entry that went to victory lane last season with Mobil 1 on board.
- 33 trucks are entered for the race on Friday meaning one truck will fail to qualify.
- Matt Crafton is the only defending race winner of the PPG 400 entered in Friday Night's race. He'll drive the No. 88 Matador/Menards Ford Fusion.
- According to the entry list, Tyler Young will make his season debut behind the wheel of the No. 20 but he's been on the entry list before just to be replaced during the week leading up to the event.
- Spencer Davis makes his return to the NCWTS for the first time since Las Vegas earlier this year. In three starts, Davis has earned the best finish of seventh at Daytona.
- Also for the second straight race, DGR-Crosley Racing rolls out two trucks with Bo LeMastus piloting the No. 54 and Chris Eggleston piloting the No. 17.
