Entry List: 2018 Overton's 400

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series heads to the Chicagoland Speedway this weekend for Part I of July 4th Week racing. It's the 17th running of the Overton's 400 and the first time since 2010 that the race will be run in July. This used to be the opening race of the playoffs but got moved and replaced by Las Vegas.

Martin Truex Jr. has won the last two events at the Chicagoland Speedway and he just so happened to win last weekend at Sonoma. Truex will pilot the No. 78 5-hour ENERGY/Bass Pro Shops Toyota Camry in Sunday's Overton's 400. To tell you how long this race has been in Septemeber, the last driver to win the July race at Chicagoland was David Reutimann, driving for the late Michael Waltrip Racing.

Kevin Harvick, Ryan Newman, and Kyle Busch all have victories at Chicago in July while Brad Keselowski, Denny Hamlin, and Truex Jr. have earned victories in September at the track. Those six drivers are former winners who are entered in Sunday's event.

After Tomy Drissi piloted the No. 00 last weekend at Sonoma, Landon Cassill returns to StarCom Racing. Cassill will have a new teammate this weekend in the form of Kyle Weatherman, He will make his third start in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. He made two starts last season for Rick Ware Racing with a best finish of 34th.

Speaking of Rick Ware Racing, after entering two cars at Sonoma only one will race this weekend at Chicago. BJ McLeod will make his 13th career start in the MENCS. In those previous 12 starts, BJ has the best finish of 30th at Kansas in 2017. It will be McLoed's 12th start with RWR, his debut came with Circle Sport Racing in 2015.
