Alex Bowman to Return to XFINITY Series at Michigan

Alex Bowman will return to the NASCAR XFINITY Series this weekend in the LTi Printing 250 at the Michigan International Speedway. Bowman will pilot the No. 23 ISM Connect Chevrolet Camaro for GMS Racing.

“I want to thank GMS Racing for letting me race the No. 23 Chevrolet this weekend in Michigan,” said Bowman. “Last time I was in the Xfinity race at the track, we started on the pole and I was able to lead some laps. I am looking forward to this weekend and what we can do on track with the No. 23 team.”

In 52 XFINITY Series starts, Bowman has earned one victory, six top fives, 15 top 10's, and three poles. In three starts at Michigan, Bowman has a best finish of seventh and best start of first, both coming last season.

Bowman will also drive the No. 23 entry filling in for Spencer Gallagher at Kentucky next month. Chase Elliott has piloted the No. 23 at Charlotte and Pocono while Johnny Sauter drove the car at Dover. Elliott will also run the No. 23 at Chicagoland, Daytona, and Bristol. The fill-in driver for Iowa (1 & 2), New Hampshire, Watkins Glen, Mid-Ohio, and any other races on the schedule that Gallagher will miss while he completes NASCAR's Road to Recovery program.
