StarCom Racing Fielding Two Entries at Dover

StarCom Racing announced on Tuesday that the organization will field two cars this weekend at Dover. Landon Cassill will pilot the No. 00 RNH Electric Chevrolet SS while Derrike Cope will make his season debut behind the wheel of the No. 99 StarCom Fiber Chevrolet.

Joey Gase piloted the No. 00 Sparks Energy Chevrolet last weekend at Talladega to a 27th place finish. This weekend, Landon Cassill returns to the No. 00 for the fifth time of 2018. Cassill earned the teams best finish at Bristol last month where he finished 20th. The team earned their first top-20 finish since their inception and hope to better that result on Sunday.

"I'm excited to be back in the car, especially at such a challenging place like Dover. It will be a race for survival, like always, and I'm anxious to see what kind of progress we can make on the car in practice," said Cassill in the team release.

The No. 99 returns to the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series for the first time since 2016. Ryan Reed piloted the No. 99 to a 26th place finish in the 2016 Talladega Fall race. This weekend, Derrike Cope makes his return to the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series behind the wheel for the first time since Phoenix last season. Cope won at Dover in 1990, the same season he won the Daytona 500.

"Hard to believe we are this far into the season already! I am pleased with the progress that our team has made," said Derrike Cope in the team release, "I have been consumed with the Team Manager duties up to this point but am excited to get back into the StarCom Fiber 99 Chevrolet, and especially at Dover, one of my favorite tracks!"
