Ryan Blaney Seeking Second Career Victory on Sunday

Ryan Blaney has had strong runs in the past during the Coca-Cola 600 but something always seems to happen or the car just goes away. In his first 600 in 2015, Blaney lost an engine after qualifying 16th. In fact, Blaney has never qualified outside the top 20 in his career at Charlotte.

On Sunday, Blaney will start in the eighth position, his second-best start in the 600-mile race. So far this season, Blaney has had strong runs behind the wheel of the No. 12 car and came close to a couple of wins. Something has always happened at the end and Blaney hasn't been able to seal the deal like he did last June at Pocono with the Wood Brothers.

Last October, Blaney earned his best Charlotte finish of an eighth. The finish by Blaney, along with the other two races in that round, ultimately sent Blaney into the semi-final round of the playoffs. With a fast car and everything going together, Blaney just might find himself in victory lane by the end of 600-miles. (Koelle,2018)
