Natalie Decker Successfully Undergoes Surgery

Natalie Decker underwent a successful hernia surgery on Friday afternoon at the Carolina Medical Center per ARCA. Decker began to feel symptoms after the ARCA Race last month at the Talladega Superspeedway. The surgery successfully repaired a small tear in her abdomen.

Decker had just finished 15th in Thursday nights General Tire 150. She started on the pole at Daytona earlier this season and earned a fifth-place finish, her career-best finish. Other than that fifth-place finish, Decker earned a seventh at Toledo last weekend. She's only finished outside the top-20 once this season and that was a 28th place finish at Talladega after she crashed.

Per officials at Venturini Motorsports, Decker is expected to make a full recovery and will travel with the team to the Pocono Raceway on June 1st. (Koelle,2018)
