Kevin Harvick Passes Martin Truex Jr. Late to Earn Fifth Victory of 2018

"The Closer" closed the deal Saturday night by taking the lead from Martin Truex Jr. with less than two laps remaining and he never looked back earning his fifth victory of 2018. Truex finished second while Joey Logano, Kyle Larson, and Denny Hamlin rounded out the top five.

Harvick finished both stage one and two in second but was able to rocket away from Kyle Larson on a restart with 25 laps remaining but as you can see in the title the race was just getting started.

The entire race seemed to be the Kyle Larson, Ryan Blaney, and Harvick show. On lap 249, Larson and Blaney made contact while battling for second. The No. 12 lost a right front tire and plowed the outside wall ending his night. Logano stayed out to inherit the lead alongside five others who also stayed out. William Byron took two tires.

With 15 laps to go, Byron got turned into the outside wall as the rear of his car landed on the hood of Ryan Newman. Harvick just barely missed the wreck while Clint Bowyer, Jamie McMurray, Matt Kenseth, Chris Buescher, and Ty Dillon would also be collected in the accident.

Tires were the name of the game, in the end, Harvick's four tires prevailed earning him the victory.
