Brennan Poole to Complete Pocono ARCA Race for Recovering Natalie Decker

As reported here last weekend, Natalie Decker underwent a successful hernia surgery last Friday. Decker is still recovering from the surgery but she will start Friday's General Tire #AnyWhereIsPossible 200 from the Pocono Raceway. Brennan Poole will jump in the car once Decker brings her car down pit road on lap one. It will be Poole's first appearance in the ARCA Racing Series since he won at Kentucky in 2014 with Venturini Motorsports.

“It’s an unfortunate situation for Natalie and the team,” Poole said in the ARCA release. “As a driver, you always want to compete. I know how difficult this deal is for Natalie but it’s important for her to heal up and not push herself too much too early.”

Poole tested the car on Wednesday during ARCA's open test. Due to the team switching engines, Poole had limited practice time but still posted the seventh quickest time of the session.

“Brennan (Poole) was a natural fit to fill in at Pocono. Not only will he do a great job representing my sponsors -  N29 and Yamaha Power Products - he has history with Venturini Motorsports and has had a bunch of success on this track over the years. We’ll see what happens tomorrow. I’m still excited to be at the track, but it’s going to be a little weird watching from the pit box instead of from behind the wheel.”

Poole has 35 starts in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards. He has six career victories, 18 top-fives, 27 top-tens, and four career poles. With the exception of testing GMS Racing's car at Charlotte earlier this month, Poole hasn't been seen since Homestead last November with Chip Ganassi Racing. Poole was released from that ride during the off-season and hasn't made a start since. (Koelle,2018)
