Kyle Busch Secures First Richmond Victory Since 2012

Kyle Busch was able to hold off Chase Elliott and Denny Hamlin during NASCAR overtime to secure his third straight victory of the 2018 season. Debris in turn three set up the overtime finish.

Elliott crept into the picture late in the race and looked to have the car to beat Busch but he had to battle with Hamlin for second. Elliott would earn the eighth second-place finish of his career while Hamlin would earn his second straight third-place finish in the April race at Richmond. Joey Logano, who won both of the stages, finished fourth followed by Kevin Harvick.

The race was slowed by six cautions for 46 laps. Only two drivers failed to finish the race. Reed Sorenson had an electrical issue while Ryan Newman was involved in a ping-pong style crash with Kyle Larson and Jamie McMurray.
