Austin Cindric Seeking to Pull Momentum from November Truck Race

Last November's race at the Texas Motor Speedway fueled the fire on the road to the championship four. Despite not securing the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Austin Cindric still left 2017 on a high note with a third place finish in the NCWTS points standings. Finishing second in that NCWTS race last November, Cindric made the final push toward possibly giving Brad Keselowski Racing closer to a championship and on Saturday, the driver of the No. 12 Mazak Ford Mustang will look to pull momentum from that night in November.

“Mazak has been such a loyal partner to Team Penske and they play a big role for us back in the shop,” said Cindric in the team release. “I am really grateful and excited to represent them at a track where I enjoyed some success last season in the Truck Series, and I hope to follow up their support with more of the same.”

In five starts in the NASCAR XFINITY Series this season Cindric has the best finish of seventh that he secured at Atlanta in February. The season hasn't been too kind to Cindric but he's improving. Following his seventh place finish at Atlanta, Cindric sat 14th in XFINITY points standings but a DNF at Las Vegas would drop him to 19th. Since, he's steadily sat in 18th but as the season begins to pick up, Cindric looks to get into the swing of things and begin his push for a spot in the playoffs. (Koelle,2018)
