Ryan Blaney Wins Third Career Pole at Las Vegas

Coming off of a 12th place finish last weekend at Atlanta, Ryan Blaney earned his third career pole in qualifying for Sunday's Pennzoil 400. Blaney turned a 28.200-second lap (191.489 mph.) in the final round to place his No. 12 Pennzoil Ford Fusion on the pole position.

“We have always done pretty well here with hitting the setups right," said Blaney. "I like this place. It is just a combination of everyone working hard and Ford and three Fords are in the top-three there. That is pretty cool. It just shows the speed we have had all weekend, not just our car, but everybody."

Last weekends winner Kevin Harvick qualified second followed by Kurt Busch, Martin Truex Jr., and Kyle Larson. Notable drivers to fail to qualify for the final round included Kyle Busch and Jimmie Johnson, both former winners at Las Vegas. Paul Menard was fastest in the first round and Harvick was fastest in the second.

With 37 cars entered in Sunday's race, all cars qualified for the Pennzoil 400. Cole Custer, making his MENCS debut on Sunday, qualified 30th. He is the only driver in the field to make his debut in the series this weekend.
