Martin Truex Jr. earned his 16th career victory on Sunday in the Auto Club 400. Truex took the lead from Kyle Busch late in the race to earn his first victory of 2018. Kyle Larson battled to finish second followed by Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski, and Joey Logano rounded out the top five.Kevin Harvick's bid for his fourth victory in a row was sidelined early when he made contact with Kyle Larson on the backstretch. Harvick hit the outside wall resulting in damage to the right front and rear of his No. 4 Bush Beer Ford Fusion. Harvick would finish the race 35th, nine laps down.
Truex would take over the points lead with the victory, Harvick would fall to eighth. Brad Keselowski moves up from seventh to fourth after his second top-five finish of the 2018 season. Alex Bowman is currently the last driver in the playoffs while Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is the first driver sitting on the outside.
