Kasey Kahne Earns Season Best Finish at Las Vegas

On Sunday, Kasey Kahne earned his best finish since moving to Leavine Family Racing. Kahne finished 19th after starting 21st, his best finish since Martinsville last October.

“We really battled with the front end and getting it to turn,” said Kahne. “It was quite a handful, but the guys definitely made it better. We stayed after it the whole time and ended up with a Top-20. I just wish we were a little better and had a little more speed. It was definitely a long race.”

The 19th place finish was also Travis Mack's second-best finish as a crew chief. Mack earned a 13th place finish at Richmond last season with Dale Earnhardt Jr.

ISM Raceway has been special to Kahne in his career including his first and only victory with Red Bull Racing in 2011. Along with the victory in 2011, Kahne also has a second-place finish at ISM back in fall of 2013. He has the best start of second in the spring of 2013.

“I like Phoenix," Kahne said in the release. "I’ve had some success there, including a win. LFR ran well there last year during the fall race, and we’ve definitely made some gains. I think we can bring a faster car there this week and not battle with it quite as much as we have the past couple weeks. I’m looking forward to continuing this West Coast Swing.” (Koelle,2018)
