Chase Briscoe Nets Five Race Deal with Stewart-Haas Racing in XFINITY Series

Chase Brisce will drive for Stewart-Haas Racing with Biagi-DenBeste in five races this season in the NASCAR XFINITY Series, the organization announced on Thursday (March 29th). Briscoe will make his SHR debut at Bristol next month in the Fitzgerald Glider Kits 300. He will also pilot the No. 98 Ford Performance Ford Mustang at Talladega Superspeedway at the end of April, Charlotte Motor Speedway in May and in the innagural event on the Roval in September, and at Kansas in October.

“If you grow up in Indiana racing sprint cars and you want to make a name for yourself in NASCAR, I don’t think there is anyone better to be around than Tony Stewart,” said Briscoe in the team release. “He’s one of my idols. To get the opportunity to drive a Ford for his race team is beyond my wildest dreams. I can’t wait to get into the No. 98 Ford Performance Ford Mustang at Bristol and the other races they have slated for me. I realize what an opportunity Ford and Stewart-Haas Racing have given me.”

Briscoe made his XFINITY Series debut last month at the Atlanta Motor Speedway driving for Roush Fenway Racing where he earned a 15th place finish. Along with the five races for SHR, Briscoe will also pilot the No. 60 Ford Mustang for RFR in 11 races.

“Watching him in the Truck Series, it’s easy to see his talent,” said Greg Zipadelli, vice president of competition, SHR. “He’s done a great job for his amount of experience. He has a good head on his shoulders and is a racer at heart. That’s the kind of people we surround ourselves with at Stewart-Haas Racing.”

Briscoe secured the 2016 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards championship driving for Cunningham Motorsports. During that championship campaign, Briscoe locked up six victories. Briscoe moved up to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series last season driving for Brad Keselowski Racing. He finished 6th in NCWTS points and earned one victory in the season finale at Homestead.
