Tyler Reddick Edges Elliott Sadler in Closest Finish in NASCAR History

It was literally to close to call on Saturday Evening as Tyler Reddick and Elliott Sadler crossed the finish line side-by-side. 0.000 seconds was the listed margin of victory, the closest finish in NASCAR history. NASCAR had to go further into the eighth decimal place to find the winner.

The elusive victory remains elusive to Elliott Sadler as Tyler Reddick was declared the winner. Ryan Reed finished third followed by; Kaz Grala and Garrett Smithley.

The race was rather calm during the first two stages but it was building up the anticipation for the big one. On lap 100, one of those happened when Ryan Truex was forced down on the apron in the middle of turns three and four. Cars began to brake to avoid the No. 11 but it was too late as drivers like Cole Custer, Daniel Hemric, and others had sustained damage. The real big one happened on 123, during one of the first overtime attempts. A total of 18 cars were collected in the accident including Kyle Larson, Joey Logano, and others.

One overtime attempt just wasn't enough as a total of five were done before the winner was revealed. 28 of the 40 cars who qualified for the race completed all of the record-breaking amounts of laps at 143, just 57 laps off of the number of laps in the Daytona 500.
