Kevin Harvick dominated on Sunday en route to the second Atlanta victory of his career. In 2001 Kevin Harvick edged Jeff Gordon for the victory, his first career victory. On Sunday, Harvick had the dominant car and was able to deliver Stewart Haas Racing their first win of the season.
"Today was very satisfying just for the fact that we were able to overcome so much," said Harvick. "That in my mind is very rewarding for everybody on the team, to make a comeback of some mistakes and make the car better and then make a great pit call to get our track position back."
The defending race winner Brad Keselowski finished second followed by Clint Bowyer, Denny Hamlin, and Martin Truex Jr.
The loom of weather threatened the race but Mother Nature never interfered in the event.
